Basically the same old news about people getting carried away and swinging the Wiimote too hard leading to broken TVs and injuries.  WFAA News interviewed Nintendo....

Nintendo responded...."gamers need to be aware of their surroundings"

Sounds like blatant disregard from Nintendo once again...

Maybe if people were actually careful and hmm I don't know maybe not use the Wii for drinking games and such this kind of stuff wouldn't happen.

I guess Honda/Ford/etc should be to blame for their selling of cars and people not being able to drive thus leading them to hit things? :|

"Blantant disregard" Eh? Nintendo already says in each and every manual and even in friggin Wii Sports to make sure no one is around you so you won't hurt them and be aware of your surroundings. Also if Nintendo is "disregarding" this then why did they send stronger Wii straps? Just for the heck of it? People are idiots, that's a fact. Idiots get themselves hurt, by spilling hot coffee on their laps, walking into traffic while playing a handheld, etc.

Blantent disregard? They have warnings before every game loads up! There is no way to prevent stupidity, so of course people are going to injure themselves!

I meant that Nintendo's reponse to WFAA sounded like a blatant disregard...I know Nintendo has repeatedly told people to use their wrist straps and such...Maybe Nintendo is sick of repeating the same thing over and over

Too late...they had like a one minute report on Wii injuries.  ABC even showed a baby with a swollen eye that was hit with a wiimote to emphasize their point.  This is like the 5th report ABC has done on this...they are really out to slam the Wii it seems.  The said that Wiihaveaproblem.com is inundated with reports on Wii injuries even after Nintendo made stronger wrist straps...

Look, I said Nintendo's response to WFAA sounded like "blatant disregard"...I'm just saying what they said almost made it seem like they were placing blame on gamers..."Gamers need to be more aware of their surroundings" is what Nintendo said on WFAA.  So, I'm basing the blatant disregard thing on that statement....

Ok, now that that is outta the way....I said "turn on ABC now" because just as I was typing other things, ABC was beginning its live report on Wii injuries.  It only lasted like a minute.

Everything I said was true....so I don't get the "fission mailed" reply from you

I have said this before in the past and I hate repeating it. Games dont hurt other people, stupid people hurt other people. Seriously, if you are so freakin dumb that you are whacking your friends in the head while playing something like Wii sports, you really should stop gaming and go outside and play a real sport and never touch a controller again.

This is exactly why this thread makes no sense.

The majority of players aren't getting themselves injured or breaking things and Nintendo shouldn't be held responsible for the small number of people who are.

Nintendo can't protect people from their own stupidity, plain and simple.

Like I said are you going to blame your car manufacturer if you fail to control your vehicle and hit something? No (unless it's an issue with the product itself, in which Nintendo has already made strides to fix said problem).

If you can't hold on to a Wiimote, you don't deserve to have a Wii.

people who play wii with babies that close are quite frankly stupid. there's no nice way to put it. still not nintendo's fault.

Kind of like someone blaming the gun for killing someone rather than the person who pulled the trigger.

Perfect comparison! I agree with you completely. Same with the car-idea the other guy said. If I have a perfect functional car (or in this case.. Wii) and I CRASH the car (I guess, toss it).. I'd hurt someone, or break something. It wasn't the car/wiimotes fault.

If someone swung a baseball bat and accidentally hit you in the head - would you blame the bat manufacturer? :|
