What about ESCAPE from BUTCHER BAY is good?

Yo, so i havent played escape from buther bay, i own dark athena on steam and havent touched it. What specifically about Butcher bay is good? is it the gameplay? how is the story? graphics? voice acting? etc? how is all that stuff? also, how does it play on pc as opposed to xbox.

I say it is good in all it's elements. It is hard to describe it because it is very different from most fps we have these days. If you have it sitting there just play it for a few minutes and do the first prison part. It is very fun.

Well im pretty sure there is a demo for the Xbox and PS3, you could try that. It should be mostly the same on the PC and consoles.

It's one of the best FPS's of last generation and it holds up extremely well, especially the re-release in Dark Athena. The Dark Athena campaign itself is much worse, but worth a playthrough.

I really liked it. It's not an RPG, but it has more than just point different kinds of gun and shoot game play. The story is interesting and enjoyable, imo. Give it a try. How much could it cost at this point?cainetao11

i got it to give it a shot since i heard so many good things about it. when i played it, it felt like a generic shooter to me. not all that great

An excellent first-person game with excellent melee combat system, stealth, RPG elements, graphics, mech sequences and voiceacting. Although I found the shooting a bit bland though.

I own assault on dark athena for PS3 which also came with Escape from butcher bay. They were both really good. I wasn't expecting much out of them but I got my moneys worth. Very excellent 2 FPS's in my opinion. Good stories. As for the multiplayer I never played it on either so I couldn't tell you how that aspect of the game is but the Single player is awesome. I heard the multiplayer was really fun though. I don't know if anyone plays anymore though because the game has been out for a long time now.

good story, feels like a movie.
great voice acting
amazing melee combat system, with brutal reversal kills that will make you go "WOW"
great stealth system
miminalist HUD - total immersion
get to see how riddick got his eye shine. FTW. and eye shine FTW period.

personally I loved pitch black, the chronicles of riddickand the riddick character in general, so playing a part of his back story was very satisfying...not to mention a great unique game that was easily my favorite single player game of the generation and nothing this gen has topped it either.
