Despite searching through many many forums online, all I have found is complete bias reviews for either system. So much hatred for items of such joy?!?!?

I already have a PS3 and love it. I also have Wii and love that too. Tiger Woods with a control pad just isnt the same once you have played it 'properly' with the Wii-mote!

My question now is, is it worth buying an Xbox 360 Elite as well???

The arrival of the awesome looking Halo3 has prompted the question, but can you really jusify £300+ on one game??

Can any of you guys suggest other reasons for owning a 360 as well?

Cheers

Why would you buy an elite when the new replacement arcade edition core has HDMI, free 256 mem card, 5 arcade titles and thewireless controller for $280?

Perhaps as I live in UK where such edition is not available - only other option is 360 HALO3 special edition which is basically premium with an hdmi port - but only £20 ($40) cheaper - would rather go for elite and get larger HDD

The Halo edition 360 is in effect a free console, my original Halo edition Xbox sold for twice what I paid for it when I got rid of it to a collector and the Arcade edition is not a limited edition, it's a replacement for the current sku, so if you don't see them in stores curently you will soon.

One thing I really like about the 360 is the online community. It takes a while to find loads of like minded gamers, but I now have 100 people on my friendlist, all of who I'd play with any day.

With the friendlist sorted, XBL then feels very personal and online is a great place to spend evening after evening.

Then it's just down to games. First I went for what I wanted (and still do to a fashion), but some of the time I buy the games my friends are playing, usually after asking them their thoughts on it first, like whether the games a keeper or not.

Lately we've been playing CoD4 beta (awesomeness incarnate), on to a bit of Forza2 and finishing with a bit of Vegas, GRAW2 or chilling with a game of Texas Hold'em.

There are lots of good 360 games out, in fact, it easily has the best game library of the 3 consoles at the moment.

360 is well worth it. Halo 3 and Mass Effect + Gears of War if you have not played it before will more then justify getting one.

Games library is fair enough at moment... but going forward the PS3 is quickly going to catch up and most games nowadays are multi-platform..... its mainly the exclusives i have been looking at to justify and only Halo 3 is standing out..... although what a hell of an exclusive!

if there were just one more absolute KILLER exclusive out, i would be sold already!

Haha, that's what they all say mate. ;) If Halo tickles your fancy then go for it. I personally won't get one until they have introduced the new 65nm chip and RRoD rates come down. Other than that, a solid library of games await.

Not quite true. If you are gonna use it just as a videogame system, yeah.

But if you are gonna store a lot of music on it (I filled my Xbox hard drive with music and game saves), plus buy arcade game downloads and HD movies, I am sure that 120 gigs can be of use (if you don't want to have to constantly play with your drive to get stuff to fit).
