What are going to be the nominations for GOTY?

How many does gamespot usually give anyway? I'll just go with 6.

They have a debate. A game that scores lower than another game could get in if enough of the staff pull for it more.

I'll assume Dark Souls is in because Kevin Van Lord rules the site and possibly the internet , but that's as far as I'm going. Only time will tell on the rest.

My list is the same as yours, and I'd say that either Battlefield 3 or Uncharted 3 will get GOTY.

All I know is the GOTY probably won't be Arkham City cause it got a 9, and that's a shame. This game is awesome and deserves a 9.5. On topic, the noms will be Skyrim, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, and Zelda. Dark Souls wins. todd2r

My list:

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim,Portal 2,Dark Souls,Batman: Arkham City,Uncharted 3,Gears of War 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword,Deus Ex: Human Revolution,Shogun 2: Total War,LA Noire.

Based on that list, I would narrow down the GOTY to UC3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, LoZ:SS, or Portal 2. Pretty dumb to say three games that haven't come out yet are GOTY candidates, but hey, I have faith.

So far, my personal GOTY has been DS, but sequels typically don't win GOTY on GS so I'll go with either LoZ or Skyrim taking the cake.

What game has a ton of hype? Yeah. That one. That'll definitely be a nominee.

Um... if we're talking about Call of Duty it won't make the Top 10, because it's going to suck. But GS will give it one of its five "honorable mentions" positions anyway. You know, due to the hype and fanboy backlash.
