What are some games you have played this gen with memorable stories?

I recently finished Last of Us and it is an amazing game. Its one of the games where it had me thinking about the storyline and ending for a few days and actually having interesting disscussions with gaming friends. So what games have you played in your life that has had a memorable storyline or one that stuck with you for a while? My list is the following, in no particular order. 

The Metal Gear Solid Franchise

Bioshock 1

Bioshock Infinte

Last of Us

Mass Effect series 

Batman Arkahm City (mostly the ending) 

Heavy Rain 

Those games were amazing experiences for me, and the best games I have ever played with an engaging story and characters. Those games are some of my favoriate games this gen and of all time. So what are some games that had the most memorable stoylines for you and why?

[spoiler] The Walking Dead, 999, Catherine, the first 2/3rds of Bioshock, and Spec Ops The Line I guess are games I think have plots/narratives that I thought went beyond being "good for a videogame" territory. After that I enjoyed stuff like Infinite, Last of Us, Binary Domain, and even something like Saints Row The Third. 

There are a bunch of adventure games I want to try because the story stuff is suppose to be legit, but I usually stop myself when I look at gameplay footage [/spoiler]

and Dark Souls gets a nod for a more indirect story approach. Still really really good but not shoved in your face

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. This game never got the attention it deserved. Another game that I absolutely love from a story perspective is L.A. Noire, another game that seems to be forgotten.

Hitman absolution had a cool story with some memorable villains. Felt genuine dislike for some of those characters.

God of War 3 requires some serious mental gymnastics for someone to find that story good. Like at least Mass Effect is cheese space opera with some solid writing most of the way, at least AC2 has Ezio who comes off self aware enough that you get the sense that the writers know exactly how ridiculous that story is. But God of War 3's plot is atrocious. jg4xchamp
