What are some truly EPIC games that have come out this gen?

I honestly can't think of one, and this is gen is going to be 4 years in soon.

FarCry 4 let's you call in an army while riding an elephant, while a freed bear is mauling people, while someones trying to shell you with mortars.

Pretty neat.

BB is as epic as it gets. TW3 was a great achievement. Can't think of anything else "epic".

Not too bad, overall.

I'm 10 hours into Pokemon Sun/Moon and am wondering when the game is actually going to start.

Still feels like I'm in a tutorial getting my hand held while nothing is happening with the story.

Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Forza, Civ 6, Total War, Xcom, and, MGSV are epic? Mind blown.

@brah4ever: I'd say it gets going around halfway through the second island. It is a bit more railroaded than the previous games though, definitely.

And yes, if the definition is 'great games.'

Think OoT, Halo CE, GTA 3, RE4, Demon Souls, etc.

Bb , msgv , street fighter V , 2k 15to 17 , havent play witcher or uncharted 4 yet sadly. Heck advance warfare was epic lol

Imo once you past 16 17 years of age you should stop trying to compare things from diff gens... the fresher exsperinces as kid make it impossible to view the future as better in most cases.

Doom is easily most epic game released this generation. its also better than any FPS in last decade.

Really don't know what "epic" is supposed to mean but this gen has been full of great games. I'm glad I dont hate everything and can still enjoy the simple pleasure of playing video games. I worry about all of the miserable people here sometimes. There has got to be a hobby that suits you better than masochistically playing video games and continually being let down by them. Maybe the fun part comes from complaining on the Internet? We are four years into this gen. If you haven't found anything "epic" enough, throw in the towel and find something new to do with your free time.

Thus far...

Uncharted 4 and Witcher 3 come to mind. Rise of the TR barely missed the epic mark but was still good. I'm in the middle of The Last Guardian and it has the potential to be as epic as I remember the previous games by this dev being. 2017-2018 have a phenomenal lineup of epic looking games

Some of my favorite games I think are this gen are Tomb Raider, Halo 5, Metal Gear Solid 5, Mario Kart 8, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, Titanfall, Halo: The Masterchief Collection, Dota 2, Grand Theft Auto 5. I would consider them all epic. I think this gen is going toe to toe with 7th gen but 6th gen blew them both out of the water.

Epic is in the eye of the beholder, just like your shitty opinion that there hasn't been any epic games this gen.

Bloodborne is still tops this generation. MGSV, Overwatch, DOOM, and The Witness are also superb. And TLOU:R if you had yet to play it, naturally.
