since valve loves the 360 so much i think it should happen. I don't want to expend anymore money upgrading my pc. Keyboard and mouse support would also be good. Anyone want to start a petition:lol:edo-tensei
If your a serious fan of the series, I really dont see why you would ever opt out and get the console version.
high, in fact I believe it will come to ps3 too
They are considering it for L4D too
But I'll be always getting the PC versions
MODS FTW!
Giancar
it may be ported to the ps3 but it will probably be released for pc and xbox first

it will cost me more and be more of a pain to play it on pc. Just give me mouse and keybord support and I'll be happy
By the time Half Life 3 actually comes out, you will probably have already upgraded your PC. There really is no reason to not get VALVe games on PC unless you are far too stubborn to spend a couple hundred bucks to get hardware to run them. They are fine on consoles but you are missing the mod community if you don't get them on PC... and that is about 80% of their total value.foxhound_fox
by the time it's released mods may be availeble on consoles as well. Maybe
Do you know what Valve time is, TC?
For Valve, one year is 10 years, one week is 10 years, one day is 10 years...
Chances are... Ep3 might not even make it this gen.
TenP
I know. sigh. I'll probably have kids by then

I don't see why not. consoles are starting to look like pcs more than ever.[QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="edo-tensei"][QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]By the time Half Life 3 actually comes out, you will probably have already upgraded your PC. I don't see why not. consoles are starting to look like pcs more than ever.becuase mods require open platforms to be made, one where code from the game can be accesed directly...Consoles dont allow that.
Episode 3 will likely arrive in maybe 2010 or so, judging from valve's usual development routine, so we might have Half-Life 3 by 2013 or 2014. Sigh, I just started college, I'll have finished for a couple of years by the time I see HL3 :(
So not a hope of seeing it on the PS3 or Xbox 360, but maybe on the next generation.
it will probably be on consoles. but half life is made for pc i dont know how anyone can play it on consoles
sure u can, you could still modify the software, but that would require a resigner and only developers have such a thing (its limited of course)becuase mods require open platforms to be made, one where code from the game can be accesed directly...Consoles dont allow that.

Why are people talking hl3? Valve stated a long ass time ago that the episodes 1-3 were what wouldve been half life 3 and they would just rather release it this way. If there is any sequel itd be the fourth game. All the confusion comes from the horrible decision to name it HL2:ep#.
Unless valve retracted that statement and i didn't hear about it.

consoles dont have access to the actuall game code, and without that, there is no way to do mods.

LBP doesnt have mods.
UT3 on the PS3 only has extreamly basic, single files, content...none of the more advanced, multifiled stuff actually works on the PS3.
Besides, maybe your forgetting, but MS doesnt allow any of that on the 360 anyway.

then it will probably be HL4 (if they even make one ) episode three has the potential to wrap everything up. and anyways if there is a true full sequel expect it no earlier than 2015
to be honest i hope they don't even make it, because half-life is not a very good series imo

Yep, Valve loves Microsoft. I wouldn't be surprise if there's a Valve launch game for the next Xbox.

but with that in mind you can expect it to be the absolute best in terms of tech. the way hl2 destroyed everything in 2004.

Its hardly any start....Unless people actually get free and unrestricted access to console game code, they will never be able to create anything meaningfull...and thats only part of the problem...more complex mods actually have to be installed directly into the game...which is only possible if all the console games were to be installed unto the harddrive.
Than there are all the other issues...like the fact that even if consoles were to allow mods, they will still only be possible to make on an actuall PC...and you need a strong PC to do all this stuff.

There is NO modding in Halo 3. What are you talking about? halo 2 probably had modding only on the original XBox but that was illegal and you would get banned from Xbox Live.
