What things prevent Modern Warfare 2 from being a better game?
Or what makes you dislike it.

Overall, though, it's a really good game.
multiplayer maps... i have no problem with anything else except the maps... BESIDES derail =DcampzorDerail?! Derail is the worst of them all!

i dislike it coz its popular and i think its cool to hate popular games

One of the reasons it is so popular is because of how incredibly noob-friendly the game is..
I think it got WAY too many accolades for what it offered, the PC version is definitely the truest, even if the bad ones seem to focus more on what I don't consider a lot of the actual flaws. The MP is fun, but killstreaks more than ever make everyone a lone wolf on most modes that aren't Search and Destroy to try for that nuke, while it remains VASTLY unchanged in a lot of aspects where it could have evolved or used tuning instead of playing it safe. The co-op is also 90% missions from CoD4 or MW2 with only a few notable new levels, and only 2 players outside of the storykind of sucks.
The game definitely could have used a more traditional players against the world Horde like mode, so when the inevitable frustration sets in you can relax like with Nazi Zombies. Glitches galore on MP, and a few unbalanced weapons (though these have been tuned).
Overall, I'd rate it in the 8's zone. Not the amazing GotY game everyone expected, but not a crash and burn Too Human or Haze failure of a game.
I refuse to hate on it naymore for its popularity though, the flaws yes but insults like "n00b friendly" or "made for casuals" seem a bit immature. If you don't like it because everyone else does, forget about it and go play something else.
This The story was too good , I thought the multi was a little over done. If they get downloadable content ( DLC ) and it had , lets say 5 more Campaign Mission for 10$ I would definetely buy it. But i do not think that it will happen , Robert Bowling concentrated on the multiplayer more the anything. So my hopes of dreams of that are unlikely. But the people who want it can only hope and pray to the lords.I want more story (Single and/or multi) and less multi-player.

Heaviest amount of autoaiming in any videogame I ever played.
No dedicated servers.
Overpowered weapons.
cons? boosters, glitchers, sore losers, people who arent old enough to play M rated games playing M rated games, same stuff for most popular online games, some of the glitches are making it, not fun to play
i agree. the effective range on those are stupid far for shotguns in multiplayer (though in real life shotguns can it with letal force at those distances with the right load.) combo'ed with akimbo? who comes up with these ideas. ive never seen anyone dual wield shotguns, not even in movies.model 1887s :x

Its for t3h n00bs, and offends my awesome, hardcore gamer sensibilites because I can aim down a sight and customize my weapons.
*presses sarcasam button, comupter explodes.
But seriously, beyond the lack luster story and testosterone laden dialouge, nothing really. It a great game.
-The narrative loses the entire feel of the COD series. This is more Bruckheimer and Micheal Bay. More over the top, and isn't as grounded as the past CODs. In COD 4 they never had much to say about heroes and villians, and this time it's definantly going more hollywood.
-The plot itself is just murky, and so much of it is just so beyond poorly handled. The No Russian Moment totally doesn't live upto anywhere near the potential it could have had, it didn't get anywhere near the amount of attention it would have needed to really deliver on the potential
-The Gunplay while solid is pretty samey, we've had alot of the game design ideas of MW2 all the way back in COD 1
-Alot of the same set pieces and scenarios from COD 4. Even that ghillies in the mist make you go  when he got out of the grass and stuff, except this time it was sand. Except the build up to it was whatever, and it wasn't done as subtle.
-The intensity, it's just not even on the same level as COD 4 or past COD games(yep totally just threw the intensity under the bus)
-The AI still sucks
-The multiplayer still rather too accessable, with very little to master
-Tons of balancing issues
-I hate the way it handles Live party chat
-Spec Ops is fun for what it is, but to be frank. I think there are actually way better cooperative experiences to be had
I could probably think of more, but just overall. For my tastes, it never lives upto the billing.
Its too easy. Its too kitty-fied to appeal to everyone. The guns have no recoil and so they pretty much all feel the same. The gun sounds are horrible with a few exceptions the sounds in the game are weak (see Black to witness how guns are supposed to work). Lvling up in mp is way to easy and way to fast, there is absolutely no feeling of acomplishment. No lean is, was and always will be bs in any game except CS. Some perks are just bad. Maps are decent at best with few standouts, no mod support means no awesome community maps. The "No Russian" level is completely pointless and so badly implemented it feels like it was pulled from some other game. We get to control a character we dont know for 1 mission, we are introduced to a villain that never again appears in the game and has like 2 lines of dialogue, the mission is completely without contect to make it any sort of meaningful.
WHAT WHAT WHAT!? MW2 had one of the most intense single player campaigns! The only bad things about MW2 is the online is too camp friendly, and noobish. There is no skill, it's just a matter of who sees whom first. That's all it is...either camp or roll the dice and hope someone randomly pops in front of you because half a bullet will instantly kill you. I don't even know why that game has health regen. And to make it worse, if you are a new player, you will jump into a match with where everyone has lvled up and is using the "intervention + heat detector" or Assault Rifle + heart beat sensor. I can understand unlocking new weapons that are stronger, but the heart beat sensor is like you own portable UAV....not cool at all.brickdoctor
- Story wasn't very good.
- Graphics were average.
- You can't play with random people on co-op.
- Multiplayer maps were designed for campers.
I'm loving it, but If I had my way I'd give guns more recoil, and take out the noob killstreaks even tho I don't think they are THAT bad. Oh and it has a surprislingly small number of maps.

I didn't say the campaign wasn't good. I liked it actually, I'm talking about the story in the campaign. You know, the plotline.
This basically sums it up. To get into full detail about the cons of MW2 would take too long. The story is completely preposterous and the multiplayer can encourage annoying gameplay tendencies.

One of the worst stories I've ever seen in a game. You could predict every "twist" before it happened, not to mention how far-fetched and stupid the story was. Not to mention that almost all of the multiplayer maps suck. I find myself voting to skip maps more often that not. Cod4 maps are WAY better.

most of those complaints about the game have nothing to do with the game and everything to do with people. the glitches are bad, i agree. not fun to play? whatever
i dont understand about the complaints of the story being 'too unrealistic' or whatever. im not saying the story is good. but it honestly wasnt THAT bad. people blow it way out of proportion. if you want a bad story, look at resident evil 5.
anybody complaining it's 'too accessible' or whatever is highly lol worthy. if its too accessible for you, i highly recommend you get into the study of theoretical mathematics, its not very noob friendly so you can be totally leet and finally get those chicks
Story mode was okay, and they need to make Call of Duty more skillful. So you can tell the difference between someone who is good at the game, and someone who sucks.

Dude :o As predictable as the story was, it certainly had some "WOW" moments. I agree that the story was nothing more than an excuse to show some pretty cool scenarios, but ignore the story and just some of the levels are awesome! My personal favorite is "Second Sun" :D[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"][QUOTE="brickdoctor"]

Disgusting online matchmaking system, bad servers, easy cheating, bad community, flow around making any realism of this game a joke if it has any.
I don't like MW2, only reason I have it is because its really cool to play spec ops with my friends. The campaign was short and overexaggerated, and it was horrible, although I did love to play as Ramirez, playing as ramirez was my favourite experience in COD. Spec ops was brilliant, but if it were compatible with players you didn't know it could've been better. Multiplayer is noob friendly, and many of the prestige mode players can't play well, but if they can, people new to MP can't do anything.
Maybe its just me but I hate COD series (except 1st) I prefer more strategic games such as MAG and BFBC2(Which beta's and demos I have been playing much more than MW2). MW2 is a run and gunner and does not have any strategic value, its who sees who first, and whoever has better reflexs, or perks.
