360
Downloadable content. triggers for gas and brake. Custom soundtrack for ears. And to a lesser extent, achievements. Though I guess the PS3 could be getting trophies or whatever.
If there ever is a PC version perhaps I'll get that one as well. Mods.
PS3. controles perfect and will play best on PS3 just like with GTA SanAndreas and Vice City on PS2 compared to xboxGarchomPro
They controlled better on Xbox actually. Analog gas and brake with triggers = factually better than pushing a face button.
PS3.
So hopefully the downloadble content isn't exclusive, just timed-exclusive, like GTAIII, GTA:VC, GTA:SA, GTA:LCS, GTA:VCS etc.
PS3, I own a 360 as well. So nobody go, "LAWLZ COW". I bought the core 360, where as my PS3 has 5.1 audio and 1080p video, you do the math.... My 360 is hooked up to a small 480i TV with 2.0 audio... Of course, I might buy some components for 1080p, but there's still no 5.1.wemhim
You don't have a receiver? Your 1080p TV doesn't have component input? In case you failed to notice in some bizarre way, the 360 comes with component cables attached to the AV cable that you've plugged into your SDTV?
360.
There's no PC version, btw. PC gaming is dying.

There probably will be a PC version of the game.
[QUOTE="winner-ps3"]it only makes sense on a SONY consoleMoldOnHoldGTA3, VC, and San Andreas was just fine on the Xbox. :|
Yeah I don't get that arguement either. "It's always been/I've always played it on Sony consoles!" So what? The 360 version is in this case the obviously preferable alternative.

Also, btw, PC gaming isn't dying.
I don't actually see why, given the choice, you would want to get it for the PS3, if we are assuming the games are going to be identical on both platforms, the only difference is really the extra content (Minor stuff like Achievments [something GTA could use well], Custom Soundtracks, Sixaxis support) . Which means you could get the better GTA experience on a 150 dollar cheaper console.. doesn't make sense.
Obviously if you only owned a PS3 then that would be your choice.
I think that the PS3 version will run smoother and the initial load will be faster than the 360 because of the HDD.AIH_PSPThe main development is on 360 it will not run smoother on PS3. Half multiplat games run half the framerate of the 360 counterparts. Plus if you have a 360 HDD caching is done. Halo 3 was optimized for HDD it says so on the box. On top of that exclusvie content alone is the best reason to get the 360 version.
I own both consoles (PSN ID: LosDaddie) and would never, ever consider buying GTA IV for the PS3.
Reasons why I'm buying the x360 version:
There's no reason to buy the PS3 version if you own both consoles.

There is 5.1, just use optical.
XBox360 version for content download, better controller, and a much much greater online community
I don't think the core 360 has optical. Maybe, cool if so. EDIT: Just looked in the back, optical portless. There is no optical port on the back of any 360, it's on the AV cable. Buy a 360 Component Cable and you should be all set for 1080p/5.1 audio.

not every one willing to pay extra money for the extra content. I heard its around 20. 40 for the whole thing and 100 all together including the game. not worth it if you ask me
I'll be getting the XBox 360 version because of the better controller, downloadable content, better online community and I don't own a PS3.
that's kinda dumb question TC, since unless you own multiple consoles you're just going to buy it for the console you have (unless you only have a wii)
i'm getting it for PS3
360 for the downloadable contentshaggyazFunny. I'm getting on PS3 because of that reason. I dont like paying for extra stuff, period. You should not have to do it. I've done it. I dont like it. I want to pay $60, not $65, $70 or possibly more.

360.
I want to get a PS3, but I prefer 360's controller by a wide margin, and the downloadable content is enticing.

So you're gonna get the PS3 version because the 360 gets optional DLC? And I guess you don't like expansion packs either then, Mr. Episode Three on my wish list?
You're not particularly sensemaking.
