are we comparing the NXE dashboard to home? :?lawlessx
Yep. It seems fair to compare, since theyre coming out at the same time, and will offer a new way of communicating with people.
Being completely honest... none.
Both are no more than useless things disgised as "the next killer app", but, actually, none of them will be (imo).
NXE for the mere fact it has more to do with gaming then home does. It isn't about having an apartment and accessorizing the the place. The avatars in the NXE are actually used for gaming unlike home. Also the overall package of the new update exceeds everything the old live and PSN combined.too_much_eslimhome will be used as a gathering place for gamers and u can get a group together and go visit game spaces and actually jump straight into a game with the people that you meet there. so it has to do with gaming and more.

you are missing a lot of the other features taht home has. also werent you 360 fans complaining about how the ps3 had all those games that were installed onto the hardrive and now your anticipating it. hypocricy is a funny thing.8 person private chat/8 player party

Do you reqally want to do all of this just to play a game online? it sounds rediculous to me. The new Xbox looks interesting.
Home is more like an application
you know, something you can do when you're not playing games
NXE is a dashboard update. looking more forward to NXE I guess.

Or you could just jump into a game and send an invite from friends list. Probably a lot faster if you ask me.

I'm being completely honest, but I can't find what has that to do with gaming.
Only going together to a game, but that's a similar feature has been on Live since a long time ago.
Well with Home it just seems like you've been there done that before. Plus Home doesn't change that whole XMB interface and such. While the New Xbox Experiences changes everything and just expands your connection with friends. I'm interested in how customizable you can customize your avatars for both Home and the NXB, but I'm more interested in the whole New Xbox Experience more.

installing 360 games to the HD is optional and not mandatory..ps3 owners didnt have a choice

ok then could you please explain to me how the avatars are being used for gaming. other tahn for arcade games which home will most likely have as well?also the whole thing is at times when you dont feel like playing games you can go and just hang out with your friends onlinebowling or going to different spaces and when you do feel like playing then you can just jump right in to a game. its more about convenience.[QUOTE="desyple"][QUOTE="mephisto_11"]you are missing a lot of the other features taht home has. also werent you 360 fans complaining about how the ps3 had all those games that were installed onto the hardrive and now your anticipating it. hypocricy is a funny thing.8 person private chat/8 player party

sometimes you hade a opitonal install and sometimes there was no install, and the other times the installs were really small. How do I know this I have a ps3.
why are they being compared there not even coming out around the same time and you can't say home is meh and nxe is great when you on;y have a 360.If you are going to answer this you gotta be a maticore.Iceman2911
No you don't, that logic is horrible. So your opinion only counts once you own all consoles?
you should have left a spot for
"I only have one system and are therefore going to say that its new feature is best as I have a biased opinion"

im just wondering if oyu have a ps3 because it sounds to me like youve only heard about the installs mainly about mgs4 which is the only mandatory install ive had. other than that all the games ive played have had optional installs if they do they are samll except for maybe sc4 and mgs4. but it was well worth it for the quality of gaming i got out of it.home will be used as a gathering place for gamers and u can get a group together and go visit game spaces and actually jump straight into a game with the people that you meet there. so it has to do with gaming and more. desyple
which makes it a virtual reality simulation. its just a long cut to forming a party and using private chat which you will be able to do from the dashboard while having custom avatars in NXE.
the interface is unintuitive and very tacky. sony is still missing those basic features that make online seamless on the 360.

this thread shouldn't have been made but if you only have a 360 of course your going to say nxp and if you on;y have a ps3 your going to say home.If you have both consoles you can decide better.
The new XBL seems to have a lot of features that are actually practical in usefull. For instance, chatting with a bunch of friends and moving from game to game. When I look at Home, I still think "Well I guess that's cool, but what's the point? Who's actually going to find this useful?"Teufelhuhn
hows the XNA game coming along?

Actually, if you read the post I wrote before I think both are an useless add-on.
The only things that saves (but doesn't make good) NXE (Imo) is the new dashboard (looks nice) and the optional game installs to the hard drive.
But still both of them are overhyped, imo.

well i do have both consoles so that is why i feel as though im unbiased. but either way the information that some people are saying about hte ps3 is just plain wrong so i feel as though i must correct them.[QUOTE="mephisto_11"][QUOTE="desyple"][QUOTE="mephisto_11"]you are missing a lot of the other features taht home has. also werent you 360 fans complaining about how the ps3 had all those games that were installed onto the hardrive and now your anticipating it. hypocricy is a funny thing.8 person private chat/8 player party
