I'm playing Battlefield V closed alpha
Are you allowed to freely state what you think of it?
Sure man, there is no NDA so anyone can share what they want :)
Of course this being an alpha there is still a lot of stuff that needs work. Let's talk about that first:
Planes and Tanks (along with infantry) require ammo resupply nows, to stop people from using cheezy tactics or camping.
But I feel Planes and tanks have been nerfed a bit too much: Planes lack a general overview of the battlefield: so it's hard to find infantry. I've seen planes focus mostly on air to air combat. Tanks feel a bit weak atm, you step into a tiger and you do not feel well protected at all, with a single Assault being able to down your tank.
_____________
But those are small gripes at the moment in an otherwise wonderful game. Nothing that can't be fixed.
The graphics and audio design are of the best in the industry again. Especially the sounds are noticable improved from Battlefield 1: It's something I notice every time I launch into a Battlefield V game: just how good the sounds are.
Yesterday I was driving around in my churchill tank and literally all I was doing was listening to the sounds of my screeching tracks xD
Tanks are improved: they feel better, look better, sound better, they can drive through buildings, they can tow guns (still have no clue how that works)
Same can be said about infantry too: Shooting has been much improved from Battlefield 1 and the increased movement set gives you a lot more options. Like sprinting while crouched, or landing on your back and start firing. Haven't had a chance to throw back grenades yet, maybe I'm still using my Battlefield 1 tactics of running away :P
I like the increase on squad play and you really do NEED teamplay this time around. You need to play more tactical than you did in BF 1, and the limited health and ammo is a big contributor to that. Dying and being revived with an animation is a small thing too, but it changes a lot.
It took me around an hour to adjust from my Battlefield 1 tactics and start playing this game a bit differently. After that I've been having nothing but fun !
Oh and I almost forgot to mention Conquest: It's so good now ! I liked Behemoths in BF1, but conquest in BF V is just much better this time around: It's tense up until the end and the way the new systems come into play make this feel like one of the best conquest modes in the series.
