What are you playing this weekend, SW?

I finished Ys 8 and Sonic Mania last weekend, both great games. I would give Ys 8 an 8/10. Though I wasn't crazy about the story or graphics, the combat was really good. Sonic Mania to me was an 9/10. Lots of love put into that game. As for this weekend, I will be playing Shenmue 1 HD. I started during the holiday, and I'm really enjoying it. Tried playing it years ago, and only played like 5 minutes after getting annoyed with the controls lol. I'm a more patient gamer now. I think I'm already more than halfway through the game, just got to the forklift segment. As for other games I'm playing, I picked up both Hollow Knight and Into the Breach for $10 each during the holiday sale, so I may try that. We'll see.

Probably Battlefield V,Rocket League, and NHL 19. I have a huge digital backlog of games on my X1 and wish I had time to play most of them.

I just picked up The Banner Saga Trilogy preowned, so I'll be playing through that. :) Also maybe a bit of Into the Breach, gotta love mechs.

Still grinding for Mesa Prime in Warframe while waiting for Nidus to cook and deciding what to buy on the Steam sale. Mind you, I'm not actually trying very hard - I've only been doing enough into get 6 to 10 relics a day, with the ones I want having about 10% chance to drop on paper. I have an abundance of patience.

Despite that, I'm already just about done with the main 18-relic stacks - just going to top that up with 6 more "spares" before cracking them open in case the RNG decides to screw me again. 10% my arse, you #@$&!

Not really playing anything other Warframe right now; I just had a flood of ideas for something (not gaming related) I also like to do in my spare time, and I've been a bit busy writing them down.

God of War on my 2nd playthrough, Persona 5, Far Cry 5 and I'm probably picking up Yakuza 6 as well.

Glad you enjoyed Mania, and yeah, Shenmue takes some patience, but it's very engrossing if you get into it. The harbor, and all the things that go down there, is definitely my favorite section.

For me, I'm playing Nier: Automata. Now that I finished up all the major releases for the year, I'm working on my backlog, starting with this and getting the real endings.

Dude! I hope you enjoy Nier: Automata! Such a great game. And thanks for the input on Shenmue. I really appreciate the game now.

Civ 6 on Switch - got it for xmas and I can't put it down. The purists will hate me, but I think this is my favorite Civ in years. The districts mechanic is great.

I picked up Assassin's Creed Odyssey on sale for $30, so I'll definitely play more of that. I've gotten back into playing Overwatch, been mainly playing Brigitte who's super fun and I've made it to diamond in competitive. I also got Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for Christmas, so I'll try to make more time for that. I haven't tried any dlc for Shadow of the Tomb Raider yet, so I might do that.

Also the music has definitely lived up to the hype (I have "copied city" playing in the background as I type this, lol). As for Shenmue, I hope you dig the finale, and if you decide to stick around for the second game, know that's when the adventure really begins.

4 Day weekend inbound!

Some Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (meh) and some Horizon Zero Dawn. I never knew there was still so much left to do after completing the game and it's dlc like The Hunter's Trials and completing the cauldrons. I played for hours yesterday and still have a lot of stuff to do

Are people actually playing him now? He, like Fang and Dhalsim, was like seeing a UFO.

It's a real problem with online, coming across the same (high tier) characters over,and over. When in reality, it doesn't really matter unless you are a super-uber player.

The passed couple days Ive seen a great variety of characters in the upper gold ranked. I seen Alexes and Sakuras for a change, you would never see these before the buffs.

Itzaban said he will swap back to gief, even seen a few videos of him back to work online. Time will tell, but it be nice to see a whole new batch of characters top 8 next tourney.

Your boy F.A.N.G got some nice upgrades, I see him flying all over the place now.

You're a gold eh? You must be pretty good. Would have loved to have a a match but got burnt out months back.

Good to see Fang get buffed again, he may not be the best character, but was sure as hell fun to play.

I always play SFV. All three of my characters got buffed recently so that's great.

Other than that I recently got back into Metroid Return of Samus on 3DS. Holy crap this game is exceptional! I'm absolutely hooked. I can say without hesitation that this game deserves to be talked about in the same breath as Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. It's easily one of the best games in the franchise.

If friends aren't online it's time to get into Red Dead 2.

I just beat Shenmue - amazing game! Stands the test of time. I actually already played Shenmue 2 on the original Xbox many years ago, but don't remember the story at all. I plan on replaying it before the third game comes out. I'm actually a Kickstarter backer for the third game lol. Edit: Hmm. I'm kinda tempted to play the second game already lol.

Yes, keep playing Nier. It gets better and better. I'm a big fan, I even bought a 2B figure haha. It's kind of cheap quality though, but I'll keep it for now lol.

I don't play much online, but I have a really strong local fighting game community. It's a lot of fun and the competition is fierce. There is technically footage of me online in local top 5s. We only stream the top 5 :p. Not even top 8.

@mandzilla: Good luck. I beat it back in the day on the original NES and it was one tough cookie. I’ll probably try it out again on the Switch to see if I still got what it takes. lol
