What are you playing this weekend, SW?

I finished FF16 last weekend, and now I'm going to continue Octopath Traveler 2 and Pikmin 4. Octopath is super charming with its graphical art style, music, and turn based combat. Pikmin 4 is the most interesting Pikmin I've played. They made Pikmin franchise more approachable and fun with this one. What about you, SW? What are you playing this weekend?

The Messenger. Grabbed it on PS Plus and enjoying the game and challenge. Had to face a few bosses multiple times to get the movesets down.

Finishing up Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines. Probably get into some VR something or other.

Mostly retro for me this week.

Still D4, but only because Maroxad wants me to keep going. Game has no endgame whatsoever. I don't know how can a developer that releases a grind heavy title, include zero endgame in their games. It makes zero sense to me.

Zelda... Brilliant game. Not hitting as hard as botw, but it's a good time for sure.

I miss my steam deck though. Got some games I want to dig into.

I reminded him that the combat system in botw and totk is complete dogwater, and for that, he is punishing me.

Not sure yet. Been playing a bunch of stuff on the XSX through Game Pass lately. Played through New Super Lucky’s Tale. Was a very enjoyable platformer. Have also finished Scorn. Interesting game. Short and sweet as well which was nice.

think about it… he was a hardcore Lem back in the day. he’s already programmed to use the Xbox triggers. Maximum drift.

Street Fighter 6 and Kena, once I'm done clearing some relics. Wisp Prime just dropped for Warframe, but a few months back DE placed a cap of 25 relic packs from Steel Essences per week, which means no more getting everything in 4-5 days tops and moving on. Instead I gotta wait till Monday and for my Ostron, Solaris United and Entrati Standings to fill back up to continue farming. On the bright side, waiting around for the time gates to reset means more time to play other games.

Last week, a new update for the Community Bugfix Mod for Total War: Warhammer III also dropped which claimed to fix the Ariel bug that stopped me from playing since patch 3.0. In response, I powered through in 2 days a long term farm in Warframe that was supposed to take 12 in order to "clear the deck" for it. Big mistake. I've recovered somewhat, but I am still feeling the after-effects. Perhaps I'll recover enough to get some game time on that too, but SF6 and Kena are much less taxing and therefore my safe options.

Been meaning to play proper Final Doom for a while now.

Been playing Returnal on PC, still gonna play it this weekend and I got to say, that game is helluva fun for a metroidvania genre.

Also, Might squeeze in Atomic Heart if Returnal doesn't distract me.

I like to dabble in fighting games, and had put in solid hours into SFIV and Injustice games in the past. I just skipped SFV entirely because of Capcom's early mistakes with that game, but SF6 was always on my radar.

As for Kena... ...let's just say I now regret buying it. I just now have to take responsibility for that mistake and get at least something out of it.

Just finished A Plagues Tale today and it was a great game, looking forward to the sequel.

Will start on Sleeping Dogs and maybe FF7 Remake on PC.

Enderal. Played maybe a year or two ago, but the combat was way too hard to be enjoyable, so I quit. Decided to get back into it with turned down difficulty and now am enjoying it.

I am playing Nobunaga’s Ambition Awakening. It is frustrating as fck to figure out but that is what I love about it the most. It is confusing like the first one was, 40 years or whatever ago.

Still Horizon Zero Dawn and Beyonetta Origins. Nearly finished both. I dont think i will finish either of them this weekend though.

After that i'll move onto Bayonetta 3 on the switch. Not sure on the PC. Maybe some Warhammer 2 Total War. Though i really should get back into this figuring out how games are made milarky. I am way too easily distracted :P.

Hi-fi-rush. It is pretty good so far. It’s cool with a game that has a concept and goes with it 100 %

Played a match in Fire Emblem Engage. So far it seems very promising and fun.

TotK. Might play some Hi-Fi Rush, but not anything else.

I just bought Dead Space this saturday so add that to my list.

Playing on PC, the game is demanding A.F. lol (100 fps max settings) but sheesh I take back my comments on Dead Space graphics looking unchanged since 2008. A lot of people would call RDR2 or Metro Exodus "graphics kings" but Dead Space's texture, character models and volumetric fog / lighting etc are truly next generation. Game is stunning. 7 hours in so far.

Finished The Messenger this morning and started a NG+ run. Great game with a decent amount of challenge.

Enjoyed my backlog weekend. Played some Fire Emblem Engage, Octopath Traveler 2, Tony Hawk remastered, and a little bit of Bayonetta 2!

Hallow Knight, then jumping into Sekiro.

How much would you give it from what you've played?

I’ve been totally hooked on Vampire Survivors this weekend.

Got bit by the city-builder bug so I installed Anno 1800, been playing some of that. Haven't touched it for a while and a lot of good DLC has come out, so I'm looking forward to experiencing all that.

Wee bit of Diablo 4 as well, though tbh Season 1 has been kind of lame and I'm not really playing my main character until I get through the season 1 content. I'm patient and I've stuck by games like this for some time, but if Blizzard doesn't pull this off within six months I'm writing this game off. It's not terrible, mind you, but it's not good enough to become my main game as I hoped it would.

And finally I got some Uboat action going on with, ummm...Uboat! Really great sim still in early access.

I've been marathon playing Dokkan Battle since Saturday morning, and I'm taking a break for now.
