Now that the Switch era is about to end, time to look back at our favorite Switch games!Top titles that come to mind for me are:

  • LoZ Tears of the Kingdom
    • ToTK surpassed Breath of the Wild imo. They pretty much improved on most aspects of it.
  • Bayonetta 3
    • Felt like this game got a lot flack for some reason, but it’s a solid entry. Sure, it doesn’t follow the original formula of the first two, but it’s still a blast.
  • Astral Chain
    • Still one of the most overlooked games on the Switch. A very fun and original game.
  • Super Mario Wonder
    • Most fun Mario game I’ve played in a long time.
  • Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
    • The pinnacle of the series and the best brawler out there. Where does Nintendo go from here?
  • Pikmin 4
    • This game taught me you can have fun doing the most chill things.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
    • Alright, I’m only 7 hours in, but I’m loving it so far. And I played the first three, so I think it’s going to be up there for me.

What about you, SW? What are your all time favorite Switch games?

The Zeldas, Mario Maker 2, Smash, Animal Crossing. Might've forgot something.

You guys like Mario Wonder that much? Easily the worst Mario game I've played in a long time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, probably X too, is in the backlog, haven't had the time for games lately, and Monster Hunter generations ultimate, weirdly enough i liked it more than Rise. Also Shin Megami Tensei V.

ARMS is unironically my favorite game on Switch, the best arena brawler since Power Stone. The whole extendable arms concept is goofy as hell, and a lot of fun. Makes it feel somewhere between a fighter and a shooter. Plus the motion controls work really well. Probably the best use of the joycons out there.

Cruiz'n Blast is shallow, but it's an over-the-top fun kind of shallow that you used to find in arcades back in the day.

Beyond that, the usual stuff: BotW, Odyssey, 3D World, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem: Engage, Bayonetta 2 and 3.

Haven't played, but will get to these someday: Kirby and the Forgotten Land, TotK, EoW, Mario Wonder, Metroid Dread, a Xenoblade.

@R4gn4r0k:That's a great game. I personally leave out Wii U games for these lists though.

@judaspete: ARMS is awesome. Didn't like the motion controls though. They might be better than what motion controls usually are in games, but I had several moments where the motions didn't register or registered wrongly, or late. Went normal controller, had all my moves performed perfectly every time, didn't look back.

Yeah but isn't there a major difference between Switch and WiiU, like I remember them making a ton more levels for Switch.

Going by this logic, PS5 has like no games, hehe

@R4gn4r0k: Not sure. I guess it got DLCs on Wii U, and they included those, plus added some more shit to the Switch version? Whatever, it's a Wii U game. :P

And yeah, PS5 has like no games. Thought this was pretty well known. People call it remasterstation for a reason.

Dark Souls Remastered. I know it's not a first party game, but the Switch is just not the same as other Nintendo consoles. Fps is poor in anything not a side scroller.

I do like Breath Of The Wild, but I feel like it's just not as good as Ocarina Of Time.

I've got a couple of hundred Switch games, so it's difficult to narrow it down.

Of the exclusive titles, it's hard to go past Tears of the Kingdom, Fire Emblem Three Houses, and...Astral Chain, perhaps? Mario Odyssey was also excellent, as was Xenoblade 3 and Metroid Dread.

Of the multiplats, where do you start. A whole heap of my all-time favourite games made their way to the console.

I think the indie games are worth mentioning though. Indie games had always been around on home consoles, but I feel like the Switch really opened up the console market for indie developers. Getting the Binding of Isaac, Into the Breach, or Slay the Spire on a handheld was usually preferable to playing them on the PC.

So many to choose from, but the standouts for me are:

  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Super Mario 3D All Stars
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
  • Kirby and the Forgotten Land
  • Astral Chain
  • Bayonetta 2 & 3
  • Metroid Dread
  • Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Luigi's Mansion 3
  • Super Mario Wonder
  • Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
  • Katana Zero
  • Pikmin 4
  • Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
  • Inside

There are heaps more but I gotta stop somewhere. What an amazing line up of games.

Top 5:

  1. Zelda Breath of the Wild
  2. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
  3. Breath of the Wild: Tears of the Kingdom
  4. Bayonetta 3
  5. Mario Odyssey

Very fun games. The Switch was one of Nintendo's best systems ever released, no cap. Too bad the Switch 2 is goofy AF.

The one played the most Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, which itself was a scam, still overpriced. But technically got still got playtime out of it.
