Im asking what have your favorite games done to revolutionize gaming.

MGS Series- It started with having amazing story and 3d Sneaking. Then the story gets better and gameplay becomes more interesting with the 3rd Person/'1st Person mix of gaming. But i think the game that has done the most innovation was MGS3. The Jungle enviroment was preety cool. But the boss battles were amazing. I will never forget the END boss battle. Awsome

I also give props to halo combat evolved since it brought a lot of casuals into the online gaming world. And it was a kick butt shooter.

Socom 2 = proved that you can have the best online play and setup and still not get any recognition because of brand names like Halo

My favorite game? Super Mario World

What did it do for gaming? It inovated the idea of a plumber riding a dinosaur to save a princess from a turtle-dragon.

I agree completly that game was amazing. And all other games that use bullet time are nothing compared to the original. Max payne 3 hopefully in the works for 09.

GTA series. It introduced the idea of open-world gameplay. Before it, every game was just level after level in a linear progession (with the exception of RPGs. Gotta love the good old text-based RPGs :P). GTA brought in the idea of actually doing something between missions instead of jumping from one level to the next.

super mario bros (NES)- basicly revived gaming in NA from the crash single handedly.

super mario world (SNES)- first game i ever recall playing when i could first hold a SNES controler, it brought mario into the 16 bit era and beat what most still see as the best platformer ever, SMB3.

megaman ZX (DS)- um...i would have said it introduced chosing a gender in games if that wasen't done already...apsolutly nothing, but i still enjoy it incredibly.

Resident Evil 4-stopped the Resi series from stagnating and revolutionised third person shooters IMO by making a linear game that somehow manages to be entertaining throughout.

Yea right now its among my top favorite games also. I didn't enjoy it to much on the PS2 but when I got it with the Wii the controls were just so much better it was unbelievable how it made the game so much more better and funner.

Silent Hill series. they really made me scared but the most important thing is, the musics were fantastic. I think "Theme of Laura" is the most beautiful game music ever and will always be.
