What are your top 5 games of all time as of RIGHT NOW?

Every now and then one must ask, what are your favorite games of all time? Has it changed? Or have your top 5 stayed the same? Here are mine:

5. Resident Evil Remake
There are a lot of games I could probably put as Number 5. But Resident Evil Remake came to mind because it really made an impression on me at the time. It was scary as hell, but also just very intriguing and once I got through it all, I ended up beating it numerous times. One of the best horror games!

4. Starcraft / Broodwar
RTS seems dead these days. But man, growing up, Starcraft was awesome. I was never good at it, but this game made me want to get good. It was fun and challenging and truly unique. It was one of the best PC games ever, and reminded me of a time when PC was cool. I hope some day we see a Starcraft 3.

3. Final Fantasy 7 (original)
This game moved up in my list because of the Remake lol. It reminded me how much I loved the characters and the lore from this game. And being one of the first major 3D RPGs, it totally blew my mind at the time. Gameplay was fun, and most importantly, the story and the characters were great.

2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
My favorite Zelda, with BoTW coming in second. Just the sense of awe I got from playing this game the first time was truly special. And even to this day, I don't see many games that come close to being as inspired as Ocarina of Time was. Loved the gameplay, the story, the mechanics. Time travel. Dungeons. It was awesome!

1. Metal Gear Solid
MGS is the opposite of formulaic. Every moment in this game is special and has a purpose. From the boss fights, to the gameplay sequences, to the story which is still incredible to this day. The writing among the best. This is Kojima's finest and unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see better from him lol.

Souls is the only new game to my list... I can't deny its a masterpiece that not only challenges me in a way I remember from my youth, but also stays with me long after beating it. Anyone can say souls games are not for everyone, but I genuinely feel bad for the folks who don't give them their due.

- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Honestly though I could probably list another 50 games at least that I could easily place in a top 5 list. Simply played so many amazing games over all these years.

It's incredibly hard to narrow it down to 5, but it would be something like this as of right now:

The story really stuck with me. And the choice you make... That blew me away. The gameplay was so simple, and graphics were meh. But that story...

Narrative driven games rarely hold my attention. I couldn’t stop playing Nier Automata

It's always a wishy-washy and generally repetitive question.

Stuff changes through time, but the same constant always seems to be A) Halflife B) Tomb Raider 2 and C) Resident Evil 2

Civilization IV: Still love my stacks of doom.

World in Conflict: As someone who remembers the late 80's, its terrifying. The No Hope mod just drops in even more despair.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: This game is perfect in every way.

1) Deus Ex 1. Some games have come close to pipping it off the top spot for me but not quite. This remains my fav game. the great gameplay, interesting story, very immersive and interactive world...just the whole package.

after 1 it can move around a bit for me. but in no particular order.

- Rome total war. still total war at its best. the big visual leap from medieval total war, on the turn based side it worked well and the level of micro management was just right. the real time combat was epic. great soundtrack, interesting time period. all good. i may dive into the remaster at some point. Warhammer total war is also very good.

- Metroid prime. great exploration, fun combat, interesting setting. this was my first metroid game ever. what an introduction.

- Mario Galaxy. this is going to remain a very very hard bar for nintendo to jump over. 3d platforming at its very very best. it is to 3D platforming what super mario world is to 2D platforming.

My favourite IPs are Super Mario and The Elder Scrolls.

At times I feel that way, too. I love 1-4 so much; I've never loved a series as much as this. However, it's just something about the Alessa/Cheryl/Heather storyline, particularly concerning the manifestation through trauma, as well as Alessa/Cheryl/Heather as characters in general, that really grabs me.....and never lets go.
