Socom 2
Shadow Of The Colossus
Metroid
I'm not sure I could even start a top 1,000 in no particular order list.. lol.
So many great games in different genres, time periods, consoles, handheld, PC, etc.
I just don't understand how people can pick a short list and think those are the pinnacle of gaming. I respect opinions and all, but I struggle with my own indecisiveness.. lol
Okay okay, look, I just play games, I don't have an all-time favorite cause everything I played & enjoy is okay in my books but I'll try my best: (Not in this order obviously)
I really don't know what are my top three. The choice is too difficult. But the three games that were the most impressive (to me obviously) for their time, was Oblivion, Perfect Dark and Halo CE.
1. Shadow of the Colossus
2. Resident Evil 4
3. Devil May Cry 3 or Metal Gear Solid 3, cant really decide between the two
I had to look up what this game was... very interesting indeed. looks fun!
It depends how you look at it…or define “of all time”. A game that meant everything to me in the 90s is probably unplayable by today’s standards.
Given that, and what the game meant to me at the time…combined with how much time I spent on the game;
3 Football Manager. The original by Kevin Toms written in BASIC for the ZX Spectrum. It’s laughable to look at today, and even in 1982 the graphics were awful..but I must have spent countless hours playing this game, and countless hours loading the damn thing considering it took ages to load into a 48k Speccy from a cassette tape.
2. Halo. The original on the original Xbox. Nothing came close at the time, and it’s still fun now using the remaster on TMCC. A true glimpse of next gen gaming….then.
1 Half Life 2. I spent a fortune on a PC that could run this game at a decent level, and never regretted it. Hours playing LAN mp, and replayed the campaign countless times. A true timeless classic.

Beeaich, I don't want to know what impressed you the most. I want to know what's your favorite, as in what you enjoyed the most while playing.
Graphics and pushing boundaries can't be the only things you care about when playing games.

Oh my god, i beg of you, just for this time, accept my three games. They impressed me so much, i want you to understand that.
And calm your tits calling these being nothing else but graphics. These three offered everything an AAA game should offer (minus shit frames, but that was the standard...). Oblivion being the first open world game i've played, i can't recall being more immersed in a game more than this one.

Just tryin' to understand who you are, bro. Past the System Warrior facade. But I'm probably just wastin' my breath. :(
@shadyacshuns: I really don't know. I would like to have Bloodborne in the top three, but at the same time, while playing Demon's Souls back in early 2010, the game felt way more special/better, which is most likely because it was my first Souls game. Then i'd like to have Mass Effect 1 because it was damn great for 2007, but at the same time, that game had a lot of shit, the combat system being one of them. Okay fk it.
Not in order:
- Dragon Age Origins
- Bloodborne
- Bioshock 1

Much appreciated my dude. Good games too.
I don't think I've ever enjoyed a single playthrough of any game as much as I enjoyed my first playthrough of Astrobot ... even as a little kid .
The other choices would probably be nostalgia driven.
Smash Bros Melee has to get a spot... it could possibly be my most played game ever.
After that ...maybe Pokemon Silver... or Sonic the Hedgehog 1 .... or Final Fantasy X.
With over three decades gaming now, it's tough to pick a top three. The first place is obvious, but after that it is tough.
1) Planescape: Torment
2) Civilization: IV
3) Street Fighter IV
Possible considerations: Mass Effect II, the original Starcraft, Darklands, Duke Nukem 3D, Starsiege: Tribes, Braid, Final Fantasy 6, Mechwarrior IV: Mercenaries. Really, any of these games could be in the number 2 or 3 spots. Planescape: Torment is, without a doubt, the best game I have ever played though.
You know, one thing I'll add to this is that, every time I see one of these threads mentions of Halo inevitably outnumber mentions of Half-Life. This is a bit funny when, having been around when discussions about the two games being compared were still fresh, people would inevitably argue that Halo was console trash and Half-Life was a masterpiece that far surpassed it. At the time, I was arguing that both games were great, but Halo was a hell of a lot more fun, and the way it advanced basic FPS gameplay would likely revolutionize the FPS industry in a way that nobody gave it credit for at the time. Looking back some twenty years, it turns out I was absolutely right.
Halflife is a masterpiece. You are correct.
After long years I realize that Halo is not even 1% of bad as Battlefield, CODs, Bioshock infinite (and also better than bioshock 2), wolfenstein new order and 2, Far cry 4 - onwards and etc.
@ghosts4ever: As a proper PC gamer, refuse to give this game respect.
Its far better than Bioshock 2 cup.
besides, Halo was not cinematic, was not walking in straight line, didnot have QTEs, didnot have walking segments.
Halflife is a masterpiece. You are correct.
Oh, I agree. Loved Half Life. The funny thing is, pretty much every time I've seen a "rate your best games" thread a decade out from the games, Halo always gets more people including it on their lists. For all of the technical achievements and great atmosphere of HL, it just doesn't seem to make it on these lists as much as the much maligned Halo.

Meh. FPS for children. dont care.

and how is Bioshock 2 was FPS for men?
This conversation has been happening for such a long time now.
As someone who came up with both consoles and PC I give Halo its flowers.
Arguably some of the best MP gaming.
SP is another discussion but the MP especially for 2 and 3 were better than most MP games on PC.
My top 3 games are CS (1.6/source), UT2004, Halo 2
those 3 games were some of the most addicting fun, I put thousands of hours into each. All had a great balance of competitive play but still fun.
Halo had the advantage of split screen couch play though, that's something I wish we still saw more of today.
I love competive shooters but cant stand the new BR craze. fortnite, apex, pubg, warzone, all of em just feel cheap.
Too much RNG, relying on what you find first, placements constantly changing. The way the games are made keep them from being great like the big ones from the past.
Even traditional COD BF VS, too many customizable options. Too many balance issues. True Competitive MP shooters are not in great supply right now. Overwatch maybe?? nahhh
@pmanden: I can’t remember. Guessing around the same….didn’t think twice about it at the time to be honest, seemed a reasonable amount of time to wait!
If we're talking about games I had most fun with, that would be warcraft, starcraft and dota.
Blizzard ftw
