SA = overrated. GTA3>SA... so all it has to do is be more like gta3... with more features.useLOGICI totally agree. If anything SA showed more than ever that the franchise needs some retooling. The game needs to be more compact, or at least separate the exploration elements a bit better. Other than that, the gang mechanics could be done better, it was useless in SA. Also, money should mean something, like it did in the other GTA3 games. Anyway, I doubt that GTA4 will be much different than SA. I'm saying that in reference to those living forests that are supposed to be in the game (animals and foliage). Maybe they will strike a better balance, who knows.
Actually I just thought of something that Saints Row did better than any GTA game...Gun play. Aiming and firing had much better controls in Saints Row than GTA. This type of gameplay would work well in GTA. Also, I wouldn't mind if RockStar copied Saints Row insurance fraud minigame idea :DAvIdGaMeR444Did GTA have a waypoint system? That was another thing that was almost indispensable about Saints Row that should be carried over to GTA.
Edit* Just not have it have Gangsta Theme I liked the others because it had a Mafia in both GTAIII and Vice City.
-more graphic violence. I wanna chainsaw someone's leg and see them crawl away.
-hero doesn't become super god of the world (ie CJ). They dont have to be anything more than petty thugs.
-more alive world. Have people on the street getting into conversations with each other, more accessible buildings, more kind of buildings (eg outdoor restaurants). You should also be able to, when running from the police, you go into a house and there's a terrified family in there. Hmm, hostages... Mind you, having more freedom means that there should be some way to make sense of everything.
-have a sewer system you can hide out in, although cops could chase you if they see you go in.
-a zoo. When cops or rival gang members chase you inside you could hide behind a hippo and watch them kill it while shooting at you. That should earn you some stars.
boy, i sound twisted judging by some of that...
Oooooh, a sewer system would be genius.-more graphic violence. I wanna chainsaw someone's leg and see them crawl away.

Not that I recall...Saints Row did and it was great. Wow, Saints Row really did smash GTA in some aspects. Another thing I really liked about Saints Row was that you could restart a mission immediately after failing...whereas in GTA games you have to drive all the way back to where the mission began if you failed. This was annoying as hell in San Andreas because of the size of the game. I hope GTA IV implements a "mission restart" like Saints Row did...
What I would like to see in GTA IV...
- The ability to run your own businesses.
- The abilty to enter any building of your choice.
- The ability to create your own character.
- A real setting - London, please!
- Improved destructible environments.
- Better graphics.
- Better physics.
- Quicker loading times.
I'm sure I'll come up with much more :P

If RockStar allows this then the main character will pretty much have to be mute like in Saints Row...because of that, I highly doubt there will be a character creation process in the main game. Maybe for online multiplayer deathmatch or whatever if RockStar chooses that route...
I am not understanding why people hate the gangwars themed version, I mean it is an espect of the crminal world. LIke any other, mob or mafia, etc. I think Triad would be quite interesting. Maybe more cilivian life? Online? Better airplane usage? ArisShadows
You mean you WANT to have to stop at a gas station every hour just to fill up your imaginary gas tank? No thanks....I hope that cars are harder to jack and that they have some sort of fuel system.

Wow as long as people are naming thing they want to be taken from Saint's Row and put in GTA, 1. Respect system from Saint's Row (Respecting in GTA did almost nothing) 2. More activities like Saint's Row(Mayhem and Insurance Fraud for sure) 3. Better crash damage(with the ability to be ejected out fo your car.)[QUOTE="tramp"]You mean you WANT to have to stop at a gas station every hour just to fill up your imaginary gas tank? I want the game focused on what it does best, not the trivium of daily life.I hope that cars are harder to jack and that they have some sort of fuel system.
