My computer is starting to get a bit dated and I'm sort of new to the PC gaming side of things. I have a 1.60 GHz, AMD Athlon Processor, and 224 MB of RAM left on my PC. The computer was built in 2005. Is this enough to run some good older titles like Command and Conquer Red Alert, Quake, Half Life 2, and Starcraft? JDW_games
It'll run those games you listed, except Half-Life 2.Â
[QUOTE="dcm06"]no most games require 1g-2g now. some even higher better cpu and gpu would need a complete overhaul for that. drewtwo99
Â
His computer has a 1.6 Ghz processor... which is outdated but could play some newer games I believe on the lowest setting.
Â
oh ok sorry. Â

Well, that's not entirely true. Most PC games atm require 512mb to begin with and have 1gb as being the recommended. Stalker for example (on the box) is a recommendation of 1gb but a minimum of 512mb. Battlefield games are the same way. Most PC games atm are like this (including Half Life 2) and should be for awhile with the exception of some few (Crysis being a huge example). He could play some newer games but on very low settings. Probably not that many either.

With that machine, you're pretty much set for old school PC action.
Wondering, what's your video card?Â
[QUOTE="JDW_games"]So basically I just need to stick to games made from 2004 and older until I can upgrade my PC? drewtwo99
I'd say that's safe. You can always check to see if your pc can run a game by going to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
