Not a big deal really, just how it goes.
For this post, I looked at Games and Accessories from all the companies this gen.
It's not about "Feeling Milked", it's about seeing it, in my case I actually did buy A LOT of accessories this gen, and games.
Nintendo, Wii is the greatest milkage ever, old ass hardware (Wii) more expensive then 360 which is like 1000x more powerful and advanced

I don't consider it milking either, though Rainbow six vegas 2 was pointless, so is Modern warfare 2, if they release it a third time I will admit to milkage, If they only made those game I would call it milking but they make plenty of great series and diverse games
Oh cool, another thread where people complain about being forced to by stuff they really aren't being forced to buy.
Were talking about milking in general, get your facts straight or don`t even type at all. "Milking" is defined by being forced to buy something in order to play a game. If it's an optional purchase, it's hardly milkage.[QUOTE="sikanderahmed"][QUOTE="bingbaocao"] rainbow six and rayman come to mindbingbaocao

for me, milking is when you pay for something that is not worth the price, e.g. when you pay for wii and get old extremely outdated hardware yet it costs more then 360 which is quite up to date

If it's an optional purchase, it's hardly milkage. To milk something for its worth is to exploit something until you're satisfied or there's crap to get out of it, kinda like all these pointless guitar hero games, wouldnt it be better if it was DLC? seriously is that all you can think of mario party 8 ,, , , just be thankful theres only one mario party on wii , among dozens of nintendo games,
going back to my first post,
theres 4 halo games on 360 ,, by the time its all said and done 2 pgr games 1 forza which is pgr with a new name , , and yet you claim nintendo is the milker,
oh and 1 fps with a new name with 2 games in it already that is halo with a new name lol only difference is, its not four players !

But there's a difference between milking a consumer, and milking a franchise.
You can milk a consumer for all they have by requiring they buy addons for games. You can also milk a franchise based off the success of a game by producing cheap spin-offs, or sub-par sequels because you know people will buy them without realizing it's nowhere near as good as the original.
Ex: I don't think Halo has been milked because Bungie has constantly put out a AAA shooter with great online, but after ODST the franchise is going to MS and apparently Peter Jackson to develop. I can already smell the spoiled milk :(

I don't think their milking anything, but they are putting out loads of shovel ware. yes, and thats called milkingHave you ever thought Sony did anything wrong this gen at all? I am just wondering because you say all the time you are not biased. I have never even seen you say anything against Sony but every single post is anti Microsoft..sorry I guess it is "M$". I guess Sony charging for fake clothes and furniture for Home or charging for a map pack for KZ2 a couple months after the game release is fine though. I could give more but you get the point.
On topic-As far as myself I do not feel milked. For the people that do just do not buy the stuff because none of it is forced.
I love forza and how can it be milking GT serise the xbox needs an exclusive of its own in the simulation area. you also fogot Fable 2 witch is very different from the first. halo wars is at lest 2nd best RTS after LOTR BfM2. also Braid very good platformer. and you cannot start milking on thing lest than this generation. ie you not milikng gears of war beause tehre's only been 2 games.rockstar,,
its sad people dont see it ,
lets count the times weve played gta and have played on the same maps , ,
its rediculous , ,
on the console front , microsoft gets my vote,
you may pay only 300 atthe most but ,, when you add up your cost of the wireless adapter and xb live service your headset and everything that a ps3 offers, heck , ,
you wont even come close
ms coulnd even be compared to wii which is so much more refreshing then what 360 brings to the table , same xbox with a new name flopped on ,
and new graphics , ,
who cares
at least ps3 did somthing , and they did it right
xbox360 had 2 good yrs ,, but those years are behind them ,
pretty sad that . nintendo had a bad e3 08 but still walks away with a win , , lol all these gamers who play red lights of death every day brag about that,
and lets compare the big 3s line ups,, not including ps3 360 third party because their the same ,
what does 360 have
ill include genres
gears-fps
halo 3 fps
pgr 3/4 racing
saints row 1-sand box
test drive unlimited-racing
forza2-racing
pd0-fps
banjo 3-platformer
kameo -adventure
mass effect - third person/fps
ps3
resistance-fps
resistance 2-fps
kz2-fps
gt5-driving
f1 ce racing
rachet and clank-platformin/action
lair-fps or action
heavenly sword-action fighting
haze-fps
little big planet-socal adventure ?
wii
mario party 8-board game/party
mario kart-kart racing
metroid prime-fps
mario galaxy platforming 3d
super paper mario rpg with 2d platforming
fire eblem-rpg
zelda tp adventure
wii play-party
wii sports-sports
wii fit-fitness program
wario land shake it-platforming
wario ware inc-party
animal crossing-rpg/community like game much like lbp
pokemon -rpg/strategy
dr mario online rx-puzzle
wii music-musical/rythym
mario baseball/tennis/basketball or what ever-sports mario style
pikmin-strategy
and the bottom line is , microsoft definatelly is a milker,
not just console besides rockstar they offer all the same types of games the different name ,
kill this make so and so left turns ,, borring ,
every game ms makes is the alternative to most sony and nintendo titles, and you know what , ,
gears just about proves it,
actually halo does,
pgr /forza proves they want to cash in on sonys gt series,
fusion frenzy is a take on marioparty lol
and banjo is the alternative to smg , /paper mario
quite braging lol

1 you compare a bare bones hdd less 360 ,, which is only 50 less then the wii it self and its cheaper? lol not . . the new xbox expeirence(nxe) requires a hdd , so guess what, add the hdd you still pay 300 dollars , you cant break away from that and lets just say when you buy a wii , you get everything you need right out of the box no paying 99 for a wifi adapter no 50 a yr for wifi ,service no nothing ,, just 50 per game 60 per extra controller , lol thats not milking to me ,, thats just business,"Milking" is defined by being forced to buy something in order to play a game. UBISOFT- Raving rabbids is a milked franchise
EA- Buying sports games every year with incremental upgrades
Activision- They are all about milking and proudly tells anyone who will listen.
Nintendo- Mario, Zelda, Metroid. YES, they milk them
MS- Will milk Halo
Sony- GT with the Prologues (just finish the goddamn game instead of opening restuarants)
I don't remember being forced at gunpoint to buy any of these things therefore they can milk away.
Sony did anything wrong this gen at all? rybe1025Of course not. In these forums, eveyrthing Sony does is wonderful, lovely and helps the industry. What M$ and N$ntendo do is evil and is killing gaming.

I don't feel milked either, but it's pretty apparent that some companies are actually trying to squeeze (milk) every last cent out of a franchise.

What are you talking about?
Sony has made a crap-ton of mistakes this generation. This is about milkage.
Last Gen, the PS2 was an accessory milkage machine, and the XBOX you got more bang for your buck. Heck, that's why COWS were called COWS.
This gen, the PS3 is like the last gen XBOX, you get a lot more bang for your buck, however, Nintendo and M$ went the PS2 accessory route.
This isn't an ANTI Anything post, it's about how many accessories, and add ons I have bought this GEN vs. LAST GEN. THat's it. Do you want me to BREAK DOWN EVERY LITTLE ACCESSORY I BOUGHT?
Then you could say, I didn't need that stuff, and then I will say I did need it for my situation, and therefore milked. End of story.
