I've never had a console break, which is surprising because I've never been particularly gentle in the way that I handle them.

the only one that broke on me has been the 360 (of course)

i have to give it up to Nintendo though, they can sure make a reliable system

360 and massive PS2. To be fair, I didn't treat my original PS2 very well.

Very true, I was so surprised to find that my N64 still works after the dusty conditions I kept it in over the past few years.

A NES and the mega drive/genesis 1. Strange thing is they were working fine and when I tried them out a couple of years later they both didn't work.

My PS1 gave me problems, but never actually stopped working. I would just stop playing for about a half hour and it would be ok again (over heating was a issue with the earliest PS1 models which is what I had). My PS2 on the other hand had to be shipped in for repairs (Which I had to pay for, both shipping and repair). That is why I waited for over a year past the PS3's release to get one. I was making sure they worked all the bugs out.

No real problems for me until this gen. First my 360 crapped out, traded it for a 60GB PS3 then that crapped out. Waiting for my PS3 issue to be resolved, until then I recently picked up a 60GB 360 along with a copy of GEOW for cheap from a friend who was desperate for money. Hopefully the failure rate is lower on the 60GB 360s but I doubt it. This gens hardware needs to get better in the reliability department or else it will be disappointing to me.

My PS3 is the only system I have ever had to send in to get repaired. It still worked but froze up all the time. I'm still waiting for it to be shipped back it's been about two weeks and it should be here tommarow according to UPS.

The cartridge drive on my NES could act up sometimes, but thats it. The only system of mine that broke and was unusable was my dreamcast, but it only broke because my mother dropped it like 5 ft onto a hard floor.

My first PS2 completely died. I've had one 360 RRoD a long time after I bought it. My Game Boy Color's speaker doesn't work anymore, my NES needs to have a small, thin piece of wood stuck in the cover to run a game, my PSP has a few dead pixels (dunno if that one counts), my old Playstation has a 10% random chance of reading the disc inside of it... thats all I can think of offhand.

That's what happened to mine. It first stopped reading DVD movies, then DVD games, then finally stopped reading anything.

Genesis (Not still worked but I couldn't play alot of games because the Controller 1 port was broken so I couldn't plug anything into it)

SNES (Still works internally but a cat chewed a wire)

PS2 (Still works but it DREs on some games mainly PS1 games or any PS2 game with a Blue bottom)

All of my other consoles I've never had problems with.

PsOne launch like 1 year after. Ps2 launch like 4-5 years after. Everything else still functional. (Atari XE ftw!)
