What did you guys think about NIER?

I mean the game got low scores :( but alot of people that have actually played it, really like it, so iam heaps confused whether I should head into it or not, i liked both resonance of fate and final fantasy 13 (suprisngly) and thoguht they where both alright games, nothing special though, so what about NIER though?

Really underrated and underappreciated.

It was a solid game. Not horrible but not great. Just solid/good. Honestly a 5.0/6.0 should mean average game but if its not 9.0+ its a terrible game. People should know how to use the scale better.

I thought the game was very good. Fantastic soundtrack, fun boss battles, hilarious dialogue/characters, good story, lots of diversty, etc. It takes a while for the story to get interesting. Pretty much the characters drive the game in the first half (just like RoF), but then the story takes off in the second half.

The thing I liked the most about NieR is that it mixes various genres, and they didn't feel out of place. It kept the gameplay from being a bore, imo.

I´m kind of in the same situation as you,but next time I´ll see it on the store I´ll get it,such is the fan praise for this game,surely it must be pretty good.

My favorite game of the generation. A unique, memorable, and just entertaining title.

It's a decent game overall. It has a lot of ambition which kept me playing. The soundtrack is fantasic, one of the best of any game.

I really need to get the game. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

The graphics and gameplay are pretty much crap, but the story, characters, and music stand out above a bunch of other game released this gen.

I don't love it like some others do, but at least give it a try, by no means does it deserve a 5.0

Awful game imo, but great music. Characters seemed decent.

To clarify, I felt like the backtracking was way overdone and monotonous, and the gameplay was just braindead and boring. Level design was pretty lame as well. I'm no graphics whore, but a lot of it is just plain ugly to look at, with irritatingly overdone bloom effects and ps2-ish textures and such.

I'm loving it, I'm pretty far but haven't gotten around to beating it. The music is eff'n phenomenal though. Just goes to show you people, scores here don't mean squat.
