I just beat GOW 3 and have to say its amazing, personally my favorite game this generation. Although the puzzles couldve been more complex

But Chronos, Poseidon and Hades were some of the best boss fights, and the ending was... interesting. I didnt hate it like other people but it wont sttick with me for ever.

Loved it, boss battles were incredible, shame the game didn't have had more weapons to use.

No explanations? Battling grunts in GOW 1 and 2 sucked, and that was something they really improved on in GOW 3. I loved all the weapons too.

I dont agree at all. I very much enjoyed the first 15 minutes and was quite impressed by the Zeus 2D battle and my first time round of killing a few of the enemies QTE's. After that though the story was a complete and utter disappointment, the gameplay had next to no new elements worth mentioning (I guess the bow being on a recharge instead of mana made for a bit more but hardly something that changed up the style of the game). The puzzles were forgettable and generally it is in my eyes far and away the worst title in the series.

..

I would have much much preferred if the all amazing GoW2 was ended off properly, rather then having to put up with another 10 hrs to come to a worse conclusion.

Great game, but disappointing as a sequel to God of War 2. Needed a lot more puzzles.

Great pacing, some really awesome boss battles(Poseidon, Hades, Hercules), The Cestus was a nice addition, and you get to rip people in half. " On the negative side the story is lol bad for most of it, the combat is still lacking, and the other boss battles are hella weak.

One of my favorite games this year and probably this generation. Is it perfect? Hell no but it's a darn good game and I stand by my opinion.

When was GOW ever known for it's story?

For the first two games. Heres a quote from the GS GoW1 review:

  • Kratos is a highly entertaining antihero, and the story constructed for him works brilliantly

I absolutely loved GOW3. It wasn't as perfectly paced as GOW2, or as varied, but it's spectacular regardless. If Vanquish didn't come out this year then it definitly would have been my GOTY.

Hades claws and that electricity weapon were by far the most awesome weapons I've seen. :D

I liked God of War, God of War II, and Chains of Olympus. However, I feel like God of War III is so far up its own ass that I can't even play it.

I could maybe concede the first game(and even then Kratos is a contradicting douchebag), but the 2nd game? They spend the entire intro sequence showing how Kratos is being warned over and over again for his douchebaggery, and instead of listening he just does what he wants. Than when he's rightfully punished. He goes on a hissy fit as if he did nothing wrong.

Number one did have the best story but there was only like 3 cutscenes and it was all flashbacks.

Haha teenager he was but the slow unveiling of how he came to be I thought was very well done as was the titans plotline. Maybe it was the lack of outside story that really made the third one suffer. I personally got very tired of him finding new ways to say "I will kill you"

Either way it was at the least(even though he contradicts it by being the single biggest douche to ever grace gaming) serviceable. There is at least a tragic feel to it, and the badguys are actually presented as the clear cut bad guys. There is at least a reasonable scenario that would make you feel somewhat bad for Kratos(I personally didn't, but I think that's a given at this point : P). Some times the best stories that don't try to force too much.

It's a great game, but they really ****ed up the story. Besides that, everything was fantastic. Not as many puzzles also, but that wasn't a big deal to me. I enjoy ripping people in half more than pushing blocks.

I loved the first 3/4 or so of it. After the Hyperion puzzle it just starts getting boring and the storygoes downhillaswell. The final boss fight andthe rest of the nonsense at the endare hugely disappointing. Still one of my favorite games this gen but its also one of the biggest disappointments.

I don't understand how some could say it was a huge disappointment or a disappointment at that. It might have not stretched the scale of the game that much more than God of War 2, but it did it with "style" and beautiful graphics and visuals at that. Gameplay remained rock solid, that kept consistent pace with the story of Kratos The God of War. People want, and expect way too much these days. And mind you, I'm a very picky and particular person and I still found many games that people "hate" on to be very enjoyable. That includes hidden gems that scored "low" to some people's minds.

Played it, and loved it.

I like how they handle the weapons and magic (1 magic for the 4 weapons).

I also like how the bow finally has its own bar. Before it was a plain useless waste of magic. Now its useful.

The ending was too open for my liking though.

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]The Hercules fight should have gotten a nomination for most memorable moment. Kevin Sorbo FTW!!!Master_ShakeXXX
They should have made him look like Kevin Sorbo Hercules. That would have been boss. I wouldn't have enjoyed beating him though ;(

sheesh, I already had a hard enough time beating his ass as it was. That woulda been just like the end of MGS3, forcing me to do something I don't wanna do! The Sorbster is my hero.

That and Xena being on netflix is pure gold. When I saw that on the instant stream I was like "Yep, I'm going to have to watch all the seasons again. For Kevin Sorbo"

I really, *really* don't buy how Kratos can just turn around and be "oh, I need to help humanity." I don't buy it.

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]

[QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]Kratos is tha man. You just jealous bro that you can't rip a minotaur in half with your **** like Kratos can :Ptheuncharted34

Kratos wanted to commit suicide in God of War 1, and behaves in a manner that would make you think "it's that time of the month" I call pansy card on dat yo.

But you wouldn't say that to his face yo. 8)

Me : Hey, Kratos! Guess what?

*Kratos glares*

Me : Zeus is not your father.

Kratos : What treachery is this?!

Me : Ya, that lady you call mother got you from the flea market.

Kratos : By the gods...

Ive never played any of the console god of war games but i bought a psp a few years ago and bought the first god of war psp game and i loved it.I decided to get the psp version because thier isnt a big selection of games on the psp and i have to say it really was better than most console games,i really enjoyed the story. One of these days id like to play god 3 but im gonna have to go back and play the originals first and im just not sure ill ever get around to it.New games come out all the time that destract me and i find it hard to go back and start a series that ive passed on for so many years.Anyways from what ive seen god of war 3 looks incredible and im sure its a great game.

My problem with Kratos is less that he's a whiner and more that he's a psychopath. Somebody please remind me why I'm supposed to sympathize with him or something.
