What difficultly level do most of you play your games on? The reason why I asked is because how do some of you guys finish these games so fast? Like GTA4. This game doesn't have a difficulty level, but still, how did most people finish this game so fast. Did you use cheat codes or something? MGS4. Now, this game has a difficulty level and most people finished it already.

This isn't meant to bash anyone, so don't take it the wrong way, but I can't see finishing a game within a week. I don't have the time. Not saying that i want to finish games that fast, but i'm saying. I also know that everyone is different, but enquiring minds want to know...

Normal. Most of the time I spend ages completing a game, Metal Gear was an exception.

I start on Normal. But I take my time with games & get my money's worth. Like Bioshock. I scoured every corner of Rapture and played the snot out of that game.

I usually start on normal and work my way through the rest of the difficulties. Most of the time, I'll race through the first 3/4 of the game in a few days, and then not touch it for months :D

MGS4 took me 24 hours of gametime ....... I played on the normal difficuty and didn't rush through it. I played it over 6 days , so about an average of 4 hours per day. That is a lot for me , but I had to finish it because of all of the spoilers going around and something that I really couldn't put down because it was so immersive. It is not really a difficult game , but I did die quite a few times.

GTA IV on the otherhand looks like a broken mess (repeating missions from the beginning over and over again) , that might take me a few months to get through if I can stomach it.

If it is a previous family-er franchise game like Halflife or Call Of Duty the difficulty is put up.

For RTS usually easy. I suck at them.

For RPG's franchise that are family-er like the D@D games, BG/BG2?IWD ect.. usually leave them on default.

Normal. Sometimes Easy to a little too easy which causes people to play through the game too fast. And Hard...I just don't want to have to deal with it when I first play a game.

normal / medium .. the default setting

this is generally the right difficutly for me, and i have no trouble finishing any game

i only ever stop playing a game without completing it if i realise it's just so bad that there's no point putting in any more effort

When I'm provided with 5 difficulties, I generally go with 4, (by which I mean the second hardest). If I only get 3, I either go for normal, or hard, depending on the game.

The highest difficulty level available from the beginning most usually (aside from STALKER, I tried all the difficulties and found the lowest to be the least frustrating). I hate how many games have the higher difficulties "locked" and you have to beat the game to unlock them. It makes no sense, why should I waste an experience of playing through the game once to "unlock" the higher difficulty providing (for the most part) a more challenging and rewarding experience?

Medium. then if there are some Achivements or its a really good game i MIGHT do it on harder diffuculty levels. But i havn't come across a game yet where i need tom play on the lowest level to stop it from getting boring. (No, i dont have NG1)

I normally play all of my games on normal for the first play thur and if i want to play it again, them i'll up the level. For games like Madden, its All-Madden all day long. For my figthing games, I normally play them on hard because most of the time, playing on hard is just like playing a real person.

I like to take my time, so i would play them for about an hour or 2 per session.

Always Hard or Harder which ever comes before the insane setting on a game. Some games i go straight into the hardest settings like FPS games for example, after years of playing similar games you tend to devolope a sense of what the Dev will do next making games far easier.

Thats what i have found anyway longer you play computer games the easier they become, same rules apply to most genres if you can not see that you either suck at games, have little experience or you like to breeze through games. I prefer a challenge myself.

I play it on regular difficulty if it's a new IP, if it's a franchise I'm familiar with I up the difficulty. Usually takes me a week or two to beat the game, that's if the game is really good. Otherwise up to a month. (Like Folklore for PS3 is a game that might take me a month to beat, it's good, just not good enough to get more than a 30 minute or so playtime at a time.)

Depends on the genre for me...

if its action/adventure/beat em ups I usually opt for the highest difficulty option available.

Most other genres, I usually play them on medium settings...especially FPS games.

Normal. but a lot of people play a game for 4-6 hours a day.

If you do that, you could beat an average length game (20 hours) in 3-4 days.

Normal most of the time. For some reason I played both Far Cry and Crysis on the highest difficulty on the first playthrough. Far Cry was nearly impossible. Crysis was actually pretty easy.

Depends what kind of game it is, but generally i play on the 2nd hardest mode. So on normal if there is only 3 dificulty levels, but above normal dificulty if there is more.

I usually put it on Medium to start, and then mid game, when I have the mechanics down I bump myself up to the hardest difficulty, if it gives me the option midgame.

start on hard

i find a higher level of challenge increases the fun. and it takes longer, so i feel as if i got more for my money. Then if you unlock a harder setting by beating it, then i might replay it (ngb being an example)

when i do buy mgs4, im going to start off on the hardest immediately available difficulty then replay it on whatever the real hardest setting is (if simply beating it unlocks it, that is)

Depends, 9 times out of 10 I choose medium. But for some games (Killzone Liberation the most recent one I can think of) that are known to be hard I'll play easy, complete it on that to get a feel for tactics, and the levels so I can play it on harder difficulties the next time.

Normal unless reviews said the game was relatively easy. I like a challenge which many times a normal difficulty setting doesn't offer, but I don't want it too difficult and frustrating like a step-up from normal sometimes is.

On second play-throughs I play on harder difficulties.

The absolute hardest it can go. It pisses me off that I have to play through an entire game just to unlock the best difficulty. By then the story and all the originality and suprises of the game are ruined for me.

It depends I play on had my Xbox 360 set so that the default difficulty is the Hardest, but for some games I play on Medium, and I sometimes play on Easy then up the difficulty. But for Guitar Hero and Rock Band and any other game like that I have to play on Medium since I suck at the Higher difficulties and I can't reach all 5 Buttons so I would have to move my hand a little bit just to reach all 5 buttons then I get confused because I don't know which button my fingers are over.

Same here I still need to beat it on the Highest difficulty I'm at the final Boss but I kind've screwed myself over since I don't have that much supplies, also my brother took the 360 with him and took all the games except for the ones that I payed for myself or were gifts that I recieved.

I normally play all games on the hardest difficulty available, MGS4 is was on Big Boss Hard, FEAR on Extreme, and pretty much any other game on Hardest from teh start, I like unlocking difficulties because it adds replay value.

Even DMCs I went though almost all of them (cept 2) but i skipped a couple. But like three I did all the way to DMD.
