I hear people say often that Ninja Gaiden 2 or Sigma 2 isn't as good as the first Ninja Gaiden or Sigma 1, and I'm curious as to what people didn't like about it.

I have it right now and am finding it hard to finish, mainly because its not that great. Ninja gaiden sigma is one of my favorite games ever, but this one has bland environments and kinda bad camera at times. Its decent, but not worth $60 imo.
Ninja gaiden/Black/Sigma seemed more thought out. New enemies, appearance of mini bosses and improving enemy a.i as you go up on the difficulty scale...all of which made it harder to estimate. Sigma 2 is a bit more lax and easy going imo... but I still enjoy the game :P Also, I think the online multiplayer portion of the game shouldn't have been implemented...I get so much lag...even when I'm playing with people in my region.
Put it in if it works well, if it doesn't...then ommit it.
haven't played the original ones, but ninja gaiden sigma 2 > ninja gaiden sigma IMO. Better boss fights, ai = smarter, better environments, better weapons. In the first game, you basically fight normal humans the entire time, which is cool but it becomes very repetitive. The only cool monster in the first game was the nightmare. In the 2nd game, there's a good variety of different mobs, ranging from humans to creatures and everything in between! I liked everything about NGS2 more.
I like my action titles to be more action-based than adventure based.
Are you guys serious?! Like im not really a 'hardcore gamer' and i beat it without too much problem, i might have played on easy everytime though, idk
The artificial intelligent felt very cheap in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 compare to the first one, and add the poor environment design makes it a inferior game compare to Ninja Gaiden Sigma for me. Also I wouldn't say I dislike Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, just preferred it if there were more improvement to make it a more enjoyable experience.
Although I havent played it, from what i understand NG2(S) is just all action. You move from what corridor to the next just fighting with little else.
This is very different from NG1(S) where you have a small world to explore although cut off, it offers alot of puzzles. So from what i've heard the complaints against NG2 is that whilst it does improve the combat, its all action. WHere as NG1 is an action-adventure.
To be honest i've only played a couple of leves on a friend's 360 and the demon on the PS3, my major issue was the camera, it get's annying some times and there are a lot of enemies attacking you offscreen, i remember that in the first one, while it was hard and also with a lot of enemies, it didn't had the camera as an enemy too.
i think ninja gaiden has been hard since the original ones that came out a decade(or maybe more than a decade) ago. but don't quote me on that. what I dislike about sigma about is they remove the blood and the gore. I think japanese people don't really like gore, but it shouldn't affect the ntsc or pal version. They didn't even try to to keep the blood. they just use "purple mist" as replacement. And I think in Sigma 2 like the first one, you play as other characters to make the game even more longer. The game is already longer it is without females in ng2. The only time's I don't mind playing as another was either in cod series or halo 2.

no no no no.
ninjagaiden 2 and sigma 2 are FAAAAAAAAAAAAR more superior to the ninja gaiden black and ninja gaiden sigma. they dont even compare.
ninja gaiden 2 are nice but there where slow down and some freezing issues but the game is great.
ninja gaiden sigma 2 is also great but i hate the fact that bosses kill u witht he one hit kill moves also trophies for ninja gaiden sigma 2 are much more time consuming and more difficult than ninja gaiden 2's achievments.
those are my only problems with ninja gaiden 2 and sigma 2 but other than that they are the best fighting action adventure game you can ever find.
i played every modern NG game (except NG2)and imo, the gameplay is what really defines this game, and for that i will say NGS2 is the best one of them. Sadly the game is difficult in bad way, it's not so fun to play the game on MNM, unless you are an expert with alot of patience. The camera isn't that bad, but it can act for your disadvantage especially that the off screen enemies and launch attacks as well, but the major turn off for me was the level design, they may look beautiful but when you play NGS,you will feel that the game is connected despite thebad story, while in NGS2 the level design is very boring and doesn't encourage you to search for hidden pathesor anything, you will try to go through the level as fast aspossible, another thing is that the game didn't evolve much since NGS, they should have added some RPG elements like armors, elemntal attacks, optional bosses, rare items.....etc , Finally there is no single mission mode.
the game is fun and they are extremely enjoyble but i thought i would give it a 10 before i played it, sadly i gave it an 8.5, and btw they should stop that Sigma thing, the game was suppost to be a multiplatform title from the start.
I like all the 3d Ninja Gaiden games but the story in the sequel was hard to follow. It made it seem like the game was too long IMO. And it could be that i'd just finished playing Uncharted 2.I hear people say often that Ninja Gaiden 2 or Sigma 2 isn't as good as the first Ninja Gaiden or Sigma 1, and I'm curious as to what people didn't like about it.

What? I think you should just ignore it if you don't like it(the online portion). I looove it and though there are sometimes i get lag(just like any other game), there are times when the game is smooth enough.Ninja gaiden/Black/Sigma seemed more thought out. And the Ultimate ninja missions are insane, they are not fun, that's how simply any gamer shall describe them.Ninja gaiden/Black/Sigma seemed more thought out. Haha! they fight till their last breadth...wait, is that ninjas or samurais? :S :PAnd the ultimate ninja missions are challanging. If you're really good, i'm sure you'ld enjoy the challange.Horrible storyline /editing (Makes NG1 look like a masterpeice)
All fighting no puzzles/exploration
Environments were worse than the first
Characters were better in the first
Game was cheap not hard
Game didnt flow well at all
levels were super linear
Bosses were boring and cheap
Game was glitchy
the camera was the worst camera in any videogame ever
Pretty much everything was worse than NGB

I'll agree about the combat, the combat was improved in NG2 which is what makes it worth a playthrough IMO, but like you said, the adventure element is completely gone from NG2 and I really enjoyed the adventure aspect of NGB, like how you were wandering around Tairon just trying to figure things out, finding underground sewers, aquaducts, cave systems, gothic churches, solving puzzles throughout and it all blended together well. Iwish NG2 was like that. Also, I would probably give NG2 a higher score if the bosses weren't so stupid, there is no proper way to beat the bosses, you just hack them until either you die or they die, it's absurd. Please Log In to post.
