psp isnt doing well because all its games area all ports from ps2 and ps3 ds sold more because its origanal and more ideal for portable gaming nintendo have always did good in the portable market and probally always will be .
I guess selling 20 million psps qualifies for not doing well (only when compared to ds). To put that number in perspective xbox sold about 25 million and gamecube 20ish million in their entire lifespan. PSP has been out 2 years compared with the 5 year lifespans of xbox and gc.
PSP just doesn't feel portable to me. when i'm outside, i can't see the screen from the glare. the screen scratches and smudges easily, you pretty much have to have a cloth with you at all times. its a bit big, not too big, just "doesn't fit in pocket easily" big. the screen doesn't need to be that big; its a nice size, but scaling it down a bit for a more compact experience wouldn't hurt. load times need to be worked on. battery life needs to be worked on. another analog nub is needed. more original games and less games that feel like rehashes or ports etc. needs more 2d rpgs; i don't find 3d workds so well on the psp because the lack of a second analog nub, so i think 2d rpgs would work best. or 3d ones with fixed camera views. homebrew and other not-so-legal hobbies make up for a lot of my complaints about it.
i wouldn't know what to like about the DSL, i don't use it much atm.Â
