We have Alan Wake. See the trailer

And then there's Heavy Rain. See the trailer

What one are you more interested in?

Alan Wake based on the fact that I really don't want to play an interactive cutscene with glorified quick time events.

Quick time events are not good.

as a owner of both the 360 and ps3, I would say Alan Wake. I'm just not feeling the heavy rain hype.

edit: but if the pc version of alan wake is still coming out, I will get that version

Alan Wake, definitely. I'm not interested in Quick Time Events as a filler thing to break up gameplay, and I'm DEFINITELY not interested in Quick Time Events as the main form of gameplay. I just find that stupid. And then there's the fact that graphically Alan Wake looks better, it seems to have much more unique gameplay mechanics (I'm sorry but, making a game out of quick time events is not 'unique,' and also the fact that characters stay dead when they die was first done on the NES.) Alan Wake looks like the game RE5 and Alone In The Dark were trying to be, and Heavy Rain looks like Indigo Prophecy's slightly handsomer but also slightly more retarded step-brother.

Hahaha. Of course!:P Anyway, Alan Wake looks better than Heavy Rain for me right now, though I'm not really excited about the gameplay. I like the art direction, though, and the games 'artistic' feel. As for Heavy Rain, I like how it looks, but the character's voices are HORRIBLE. It just ruins the feel of the game, which I'm disappointed with.:(

Alan Wake, but my expectations are low. The E3 demo looked really boring, the action was a large step down from Max Payne, and unless the story is really great I'll probably skip it. But Heavy Rain looks worse, made by the makers of Indigo Prophecy.

You're right, and I never expected Alan Wake to be as trigger-happy as Max Payne. But I did expect, from their previous games, that when there is action in Alan Wake it would be enjoyable. From the look of the E3 demo, that is not the case.

Honestly, my hype meter is pretty low on both anymore.

Alan Wake sounded great... over four years ago. Now that the PC version is in serious doubt, I'd have to rent a 360 for a run though, and I won't bother unless it looks to be a fantastic experience. From what we've seen recently, I'm startig to doubt that will be worth the effort.

My Heavy Rain Hype-O-Meter never got very high to start with... certainly not as high as Alan Wake did. My main interest in Heavy Rain was the deep story line. The gameplay news we've had has tempered what little enthusiasm I had for it. When it comes out I'll likely read more on it, and see what it's all about because atm we still don't know much. But I'm not expecting great things anymore.

Who knows? Both might still surprise me when they release. And I loooove surprises! You don't get many in the gaming world these days:lol:

I will laugh when Alan Wake flops and scores below the hyped AAA. It will probably be a good game and that's it. A good quality game, but I don't see it being as entertaining as blockbuster like God of War III, GTA IV, CoD: MW2, or Starcraft II. As for Heavy Rain, I dunno. I saw the voice acting and characters models/animations from Uncharted 2 and that spoiled me because when I went back and watched Heavy Rain, it looked terrible, lol

Honestly, I really wanted to have Alan Wake as I barely finished building up my new rig. The game looks REALLY curious and interesting. But now that those hopes have shattered, Heavy Rain seems intriguing enough to give it a try.

Both the trailers are good and interesting. Alan Wake's trailer looks like a movie trailer. I would go see it if it was a real movie. Also, I feel that Alan Wake is in a little bit of an identity crisis. Is it a movie, mystery, action, or shooter game?
