What do you think will be the next big flop of the year?

Since Street Fighter V and Quantum Break have both been flops so far this year I'm worried that Horizon and Gears 4 will continue that trend.

What about you, what game do you think will be the next big flop?

Although I hope not....I don't know if it will be the next, but I have a feeling FFXV will be a flop.

Ummm I dont know to be honest, I would have to wait until a lot of them are closer. FF XV is going to be fine I think, I dont foresee a flop there.

Horizon.....and i'm apprehensive about Gears 4 as well.

Hopefully none, because nothing brings out the low lifes on this site better than an exclusive flopping (by GS standards) but since GS doesn't have any competent reviews it could be the next exclusive to be released.

I'm sure No Man Sky won't be as good as people fantasy dream.

I think FFXV will be fine like 8 to 8,5 fine. I guess Gears 4 won't be very good either

Well I don't see either SF or Quantum Break as flops especially with QB not even being out yet for people. Don't know what the first big flop of the year will be.

Gears 4 will probably suck dirty butt. Is it supposed to come out this year? I'm never up to speed on game releases.

I never really had high hopes for Horizon, and Gears 4 is worry considering The Coalition is an unknown except for their less than stellar work on Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which was pretty meh before they took forever to patch it. Before that, game had horrible glitches like lancer kills weren't sawing through enemies but instead sawing blank space about a foot off the enemies chest. Yeah, took forever just to patch something that shouldn't have been happening at launch.So, I'm a bit worried. But, I'm at least hoping for the best there as there's lots of potential with Gears games.

There's a lot of high hope games though coming out in the coming months that might be disappointing to some people depending on how they perform: Doom 4, Mirror's Edge 2 (supposedly comes out in less than two months, haven't seen shit). No Man's Sky comes out less than three months and we've not seen more than the basic promotional material we've seen last couple years. FFXV will certainly let people down solely on account of being in development for last decade and half that time the game was being super hyped by Sony fanboys as a PS3 exclusive; so that has a lot to live up to. It'll be 7 years before the last proper Persona title, but given success of Persona 3/4 I think P5 has a lot to live up to. I'd say the more hyped we are for certain games the bigger of a flop something is if it fails to meet people's expectations.

Technically a 9 could be a flop if the hype was a 10. Just as a 6 would not be a flop if the hype was 5.

Final Fantasy XV of course, square will **** it up like they did XII onwards.

Of course not half of those reviewers are in love with that playstation. The user scores may give a better image for quantum break, allthough I can see sony fanboys giving the game a 1/10 just to drag the score down. It's something I don't expect from a lemming. It's quite obvious when I make an thread with comical cartoon that is pro sony and against xbox. Most posters are like, yes that's true, yes sony's great blabla.

But when I do one pro xbox and against sony, most posters turn purple lol. what's even worse is that they probably all on here because they have no games to play lol.

After update SFV is 9/10 game probably I'm guessing star fox.

No Man's Sky looks like some artsy boring bullshit, so that'll get my vote. I appreciate the scope of exploration the devs are going for though. Just looks so snoozeworthy.

Gears of War 4 will flop objectively, the dev has literally never made a game before, their first project was gears of war remastered and this is their first game.

Final Fantasy's demos are better than most full games so there is no way for it to be bad, it might or might not live up to expectations, but there is no way it'll be a bad game.

World of Final Fantasy should surprise most people because they aren't judging the game for it's own merit but instead based on it's chibi arstyle, it's honestly looking to be the game most final fantasy fans have been asking for, except less mature

Well Quantum Break already ended up sucking so I'd say maybe No Man's Sky being a technical marvel but getting a bit boring after playing enough.

I can see Cuphead not living up to expectations.

You're going to have to eventually admit that Quantum Break is a generic shooter with a coating of talented actors and live action cutscenes.

Are we talking in terms of sales or critical reception? Because I doubt Quantum Break will flop sales wise.

I gotta go with Star Fox Zero. It'll probably hit 1.5 million in sales tops.

If it scored under a 9 on Gamespot that would fit the definition of a flop, but it won't be an official flop anymore because the metagame is gone now. If it also did not break a 90% average on MC either people won't be able to use MC. Below 80% on both GS and MC will probably cause chaos, but that won't happen.

It's possible that UC4 gets an 8 on Gamespot, but it should average out around a 90% on MC unless reviewers are not super impressed with it.

As for games that will most likely flop I think Doom and No Man Sky. Uncharted 4 actually has about a 20%-25% chance of scoring lower than expected on Gamespot, but around a 5% overall(i.e on MC). I'm not sure about FFXV yet. Gears 4 may score lower than expected also but I think the Coalition will make sure they make a gears game that is superb.

Uncharted 4 will be AAA hype and be a AA game.

My calculations keep bringing me to a 32.67% chance of flopping on GS, with 7.001% chance of flopping on MC, but I'll admit, I'm working from last months data here.

I'll recompile my figures with the latest data, upgrade to FlopCruncher Version 2.6, then let it run overnight and see what it comes up with. I'll be sure to share the results in the morning and see if we're coming up with similar findings.

Quantum Break isn't a flop... dumb thread.

Both QB and SFV are flops unless we're just ignoring the metagame altogether now. Of course SFV is a real world flop, QB probably won't suffer the same fate.

No Man's Sky or FFXV. I hope both are great, but I'm skeptical right now.
