You can voice chat with friends even if they aren't playing a game if you are on the 360. On the PS3 the only time you can voice chat is if they are playing the same game or you both are not playing anything and start a chat. Also the 360 has custom soundtracks that you can play with any game unlike the PS3 which is only available with a very limited amount of games.
ya that would be nice to do but i think with a firm ware update ps3 owners can do all of wat u said idk one can only hopejayymasterflex
Dude it took forver just to be able to access the XMB while in game. How long do you think it's gonna take for them to release a firmware update with the chat feature? Also from what I understand Microsoft has some kinda rights to in-game soundtracks or something.

Yeah, you got that right, lol.
one word: bigger communityCyberfairy
didnt gamespot run an article that psn had as many users as xbl? -not trying to be a fanboy- but nobody seems to remember that article and im beginning to think it isnt real lol :P

Underaged kids yelling expletives into your ear every five seconds.-SkyfallYou'll find that on any platform, not just Xbox Live.

i have a ps3 and love it but just wondering wat does 360 have that ps3 doesnt when it comes to online or online chat also xmb im curious i hear peole always saying 360 has better online but in which waysjayymasterflex
Wow...where do I start. First when guys say that its better online, it IS an opinion, eventhough many agree. It seems as if XBL is geared towards bringing the XBOX community closer, and the NXE makes it even better. For instance, When you start, you make an avatar...the you can put your info like your name, where your from, a motto, and enuff space to put a lenghty bio if you would like to.
Gamers can look at your profile, your gamer pic, avatar, and see your game information like what games you play and what achievements you have for them. Its a nice way to compair what you play to a friend or a complete stranger. Of course you can make it private if you would like, or you can put it to where only friends can see your information like games played etc.
NXE brought parties to XBL...thats where you can choose to start a party of friends or just gamers you have met online and you will all be able to talk to each other and play games with each other. You can be in the party even if you are not playing with everyone else thats in the party. For instance 3 of you can be playing COD4 and on guy could be playing Gears 2 and you all will be in the same chat channel. You can choose to use the games chat where you will hear everyone, even the ones in your party.
It makes it really easy to see what your friends are doing at all times. You can see if they are in a party...if so, you can join the party if its not private. Or if you log on and see one of your friends playing a game, you can choose to join his game. Its really quick and easy. Again, its geared towards bringing gamers together in my opinion.
Now when it comes to games etc. Say for instance your thinking about purchasing Ninja Gaiden II. You can go to games and browse the N section. When you see the title your looking for It will bring you to a screen that will show you screen shots of the game, what resolution the game is in...the DLC, and even the story behind the game. Some games have trailers that they will stream. Its nice. You can do that with everygame, although everygame does not have a great deal of info on its page...some games might not have Maps for download, or gamerpics...but they will have everything thats ready for download there. If its vids, themes, maps, whatever.
Netflix is something that I never really messed with, so I cant comment on how that is.....I guess its self explainatory eh?
I enjoy XBL online because they seem to have a great deal of hardcore gamers online (or maybe its the games I play). I like that I can compair myself to other guys while playing them, by checking their achievements it tells you alot about a gamer. I was playing gears 2 horde mode and I saw some guy had just got their 360 so I went to giving tips..and they were well recieved by the newer guys. Then one guy came on and even started telling them how to do glitches etc. lol.
Little stuff like being able to listen to music while playing games is great....but my overall opinion is...Its as good and as deep as the user. Some will get online with PSN, and compair it to XBL. Thats because they are not looking for much, and they dont expect much. They just want to get on and play a game. While there is nothing wrong with that, I look for a deeper experience than just playing people....I want to see who I beat etc.
I know I went on and on, but eh. Hope this helps a bit.
that would be nice to play my downloaded music while im playing mgs4 lol that be cool, but chatting isnt up to par with 360 but it seems fine for me i like the voice changer pretty cool to mess with:P but only thing i see better is that u can talk to someone while playing a different game

ya that helps man but psn owners can compare trophies and levels so i guess there not all that different just the chat feature and downloadable demos
Cool. Like I stated...its as deep as the user. I know guys who have 360's that dont use all of the stuff thats in it. For some it doesnt matter. If you want to just get into games and be able to play online PSN will be enuff for you.

You hit it on the nail. It's a deep as the user; that should be a phrase no one should forget when it comes to Xbox Live and PSN topics. A lot of Playstation 3 owners are really satisfied with logging onto the Playstation Network and playing online multiplayer. Same thing goes for Xbox Live. But everything on Live is just more developed. So for a gamer who wants to have a deep online experience there are options for both Live and PSN that allow him or her to do so. BUT! Xbox Live just allows that same user to go deeper then the Playstation Network. if you look at the films/TV shows online PSN, and you compare it to Xbox Live; Microsoft is just way beyond the basic concept Sony has. Samething with the number of demos Live has as well. Downloadable games are also a major part of Xbox Live. Yes, you can do the samething with the PSN. But you have Xbox Live Arcade games, Xbox Originals, and the new Community games from the indie realm. Sony list of download games is just a handful compared what Live offers. There's always a way play videogames on Live with your favorite celebs, prizes to win in competitive online multiplayer, and the Inside Xbox feaurette. And of course the communication features Live has.
There is always something new to download, watch, and play on Xbox Live. That's everyday. It really does make a better online experience.
