I wouldn't label System Shock 2 as a traditional FPS game, but I would give it a 10...

One of the best games I ever played, and the funny thing is, I did my first playthrough earlier this year :)

There's a GTA FPS mod.

Though of course, then it wouldn't be a 10,just 9 because PC has higher standards.

There was a time where the consoles got lackluster ports and it took a great, groundbreaking game like Goldeneye, to actually influence the PC. Now anything that sells well despite the quality influences everything. Even Halo is falling to what the higher selling shooters do. It's really sad.

I did notice how GS tagged the "on a cosole" part at the end. GS used to segregate console and PC quite a bit. They even had two different GOTY awards back in the 90s.

It is quite a shame that CoD4 is pretty much undeniably the most "groundbreaking" game this gen since it has influenced not only other FPS games, but several other genres.

I think Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 would have gotten 10 instead of a 9.8 if it was reviewed today, back then Gamespot rated games by 0.1's out of ten, but now Gamespot rates games by 0.5's out of ten.

STALKER SOC is perfect 10 in my book. STALKER sum up how to make FPS and how all FPS should have been. sadly due to corrupt mainstream media it was overshadow by big overhype game. like COD or bioshock.SNIPER4321

If Crysis had a better multiplayer it would've gotten it.

Borderlands was 10/10 as far as I'm concerned, I mean it did everything right including co-op.

I'd also give Half-Life 2 a 10/10 easily.

Rage was about a 9/10

Doom3 about a 9/10

Halo Reach was excellent. I can see an argument for 10/10

Also Killzone 2

It's hard to say "All you do is shoot people" and give it a 10/10.
