What does Sony need to do to sell more games?

In light of Greenberg's comments. This made me wonder a bit. I mean the console install base for both platforms aren't too far apart. 40 vs 35. How does 1 game Halo 3 manage to outsell like 6 major PS3 exclusives combined. And these aren't crappy games but the best of the best that PS3 has to offer. Resistance 1,2 Uncharted 1,2 God of War 3, Killzone 3 combined. How? What does sony need to do to sell more games?

See the problem was that Greenberg only used NPD numbers. Worldwide it's an entire different story.

PS3 games, especially exclusives are not selling poorly.

Do remember, Halo 3 is one of the most hyped games in history. It also had lots of money spent on advertising too. The actual game was crummy IMO, but that didn't stop it from selling well.

I saw plenty of advertising for Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2. I still remember the Killzone 2 commecial. Is it just not registering with people?

All i know is combined Gears 1 + 2 it equals about 11 million

its only 1 exclusive title that sold that much followed by Geow series & Forza... and to be honest Geow2 & Forza3 sold similar to MGS4 & GT5p..

nothing, Sony is doing just fine. most of the games he mentioned sold 2.5 million + . i believe he needs to worry about the x360 lead more than Halo3 vs PS3 games ;).

More software was sold on the PS3 than the 360 last quarter despite the 360's larger install base, so they're doing fine. Halo 3 isn't the standard for MS, it's the exception.

I know it is one of the best blu ray players on the market still, for a very good price that can access BBC iplayer etcf, but I'm sure a lot of people still use if for games

Heavily promote a game that appeals to a wide demographic and has massive multiplayer/online to back it up. That or finally release Gran Turismo 5. :P

I think its pretty close, 0.7 of a game. So on average XBOX owners buy 0.7 of a game more than people who buy PS3s. So if a lot of people buy PS3's purely for blu rays, then that must mean for those that buy the console for use as a game machine, the attatch rate must be much higher than that of the 360 :P

let me spin that, for a system (PS3) which people believe its bought mainly as a blu-ray player, being so close to the 360 which is a TRUE Gaming console makes me think a lot.. either PS3 is mainly bought as a gaming console or else 360 has done something wrong since its just a gaming console with an attach rate close to that of a Blu-ray player :P

Add cross game chat. Everything else is perfect.

MS doesn't have anymore games to show, that's why they are playing the sales card, not to mention Halo is the sole example.

Fan can't play sales , you know .... may be that's why the x360 is losing the lead.
