what does that mean for exclusivity of ME2?

i found that in the FAQ section of the official site of MASS EFFECT 2.

"Will there be a PS3 version of Mass Effect 1 and 2?

Mass Effect 2 is planned for the PC and Xbox 360."

it says planned but not exclusive, now i do not wanna play with words but i hope that hopefully it will appear on ps3.

Game companies never speak in absolutes. There's always "plans" for x, or "no plans" for y. It's rarely "y isn't going to happen ever".

I don't mean to defend them. But maintaining a high quality intellectual property is not greed, its good business. Which company is more greedy, MS or Sony is also highly debatable. They admittedly are offering a better deal (in my opinion) right now then their primary competition.

That came however after loosing an incredible amount of market share, telling consumers some incredibly arrogant things, and launching with an astronomical price (one that remained high for service offered for quite a while). Who is more greedy is simply a question of perspective and time. In the end though, company's arent "greedy", they attempt to profit maximize, its the basic nature (and high simplified here) of competitive markets. Greed is just an attribute you place upon them for your own personal reasons....

I think by the way that Bioware has responded to the rumors over time that they are under NDA (go watch the gttv that is all about ME2 to see what I'm talking about) suggests that the game is a timed exclusive. I really hope that my hunch on this game is correct because I'd love to play it on ps3'

It's not going to happen. It's like Splinter Cell Convinction and Left For Dead. They won't come to the PS3.. Well.. MAYBE. I mean Bioshock ended up on the PS3..

if MS is hated by most gamers wouldnt the ps3 be in second place right now? i think ur just whining because the game isnt on your console. nobody hates MS on here except fanboys/people who are way too into this video game ****. if u want to play Mass Effect so bad, buy a 360. or at least stop acting like there's some deep reasoning behind you not getting one, because there's not.

Porting both ME's to the PS3 would require a lot of work... because they would have to optimize the ME engine for the PS3, which in itself would require quite a lot of work (since they've already done all the work for 360/PC, and since those platforms are so similar, they don't have to do it again for ME2).

I personally would say to PS3-only owners who want to play ME/ME2... either keep waiting and hoping, or just spend $200 and get a 360.
