The PS3 has come a long way, admittedly taking some pages of 360's playbook (trophies) but with the upgrades to the online interface. The PS3 just stands out to me as the system with more quality.

Games are not sustainable arguments. There are just as many quality games on the PS3 as there is 360 albeit there is DLC

I have owned a 360 before switching to the PS3. This is not a trolling post. My point is that the 360 is on a lower level in terms of production quality but it makes up for it in the price tag. If you just want to play games for a decent price the 360 is great, but if you want the ultimate package can the PS3 be topped?

the simplest answer boils down to the fact that the 360 has a standard microphone.. so if online gaming is a big deal to you, and you think spending money on it is worth it.. get a 360

oh and 1 other thing.. don't need to install demos to play them(though for the ability to install laptop hdds, i'd be willing to wait for install times)

regarding every other detail, you may want a ps3.. unless achievements/gamerscore are a real deal breaker for you

the 360 has the advantage of the head start with extra software, but the trade off for that is a console rushed into next gen with reliability issues .. if you really like the 360 selection you may be better off with a pc upgrade rather than a ps3 too

its way cheaper, at the moment in my country the ps3 is $688.00 and the 360 is $279.00, How can the ps3 really compete with that pricing it's just not possible

Dude, - Price - Online Service is better (more Xbox 360 games support online them PS3 games). Plus every game supports voice chat. - B/C With the new PS3's there is no PS2 B/C anymore. Over 200 XBox games are B/C on the 360. - Achievements are better on 360 as EVERY game including the XLA games include achievements. Microsoft makes it real easy for developers to add them to their games. Sony doesn't. Not all PS3 games have trophies. It's like 5% or less. - On XBox 360 you get demos usually before the PS3. - More Arcade games and DLC then PS3's online service. Also more movies and T.V. shows. - There are definitely more quality games on the XBox 360 then on the PS3. Just check Gamerankings.com. Because the 360 has been out for a year longer, there are more games. - XBox 360 comes with HDMI cable and headset. PS3 doesn't. - Able to download any Xbox 360 game on to the HDD. - No large mandatory installs. and much more. So no, the PS3 doesn't have more quality except in the reliability of the hardware. Everything I listed is better on the XBox 360 right now.

It has a movie download service and the voice chat is way better. The updates are also a lot quicker. I'd say those are the main 3 advantages.

Xanderzane you are my hero. You just mutilated the competition. I couldn't think of half those cons for the ps3.

I should point out I dont hate ps3 other than it's controllers though. I would be a dirty liar if I said I didn't want Metal Gear Solid 4 (and I didn't like the others too much and am not a fan of stealth games) or SOCOM.

THe 360 is better at making more noise than the PS3 and can probably do a better job of heating up the room. On a serious note its cheaper in price and cheaper in quality.

LOL, Dude I owned a PS3 for a year it collected dust and after I beat MGS4 I sold it. The library is so bad people actually got excited over a platformer where you could make your own levels. Give me a break.

As a gamer that has owned both ps3 and 360, I would say that they are both really awesome, honestly I know thats a wack response since your trying to get a discussion going but I loved both my ps3 and 360, and gamers cant go wrong with either one especially this time in 2008, and 2009 only looks even more exciting. I have to say that I did enjoy my 360 more for things like the fact that I could buy MS points for DLC instead of using a credit card, the fact that nearly everyone online had a headset( I couldnt find a blutooth that worked on my ps3 so online was pretty lonely for me...), I had a good amount of friends on PSN as well as XBL but we seeemd to have a better time on XBL because like I said we all had mics and inviting to matches was easy. Anyway despite having hardware trouble and giving me the RROD I loved my 360 and I had this amazing thing called a warranty that everyone seeemed to have forgotten about so I just took my 360 back, got a shiny new one and kept my HDD lol xbox360 gets a 9/10 imo and ps3 gets 8.7 or something, its your call- I think that as a gamer I am much more excited about the ps3s 2009 lineup but My most anticipated game (street fighter4) is multiplat so... Anyway hope that helped buddy

Play games.. better controller and usually better graphics.

Check eurogamer.net to see how about 80% of multiplat look better on 360.

The 360 gets better RROD then the PS3 does.
