Money.
If you were making a game, would you only make it for one platform and eliminate millions of potential buyers? I know I wouldn't.
nowadays, games cost huge amounts of money to make, and if the game doesnt sell enough copies your losing money.
If the game is multi platform then it will sell more.
the only reason games like gow, halo and mgs are exclusive to certain consoles is that they just own so much they will sell over 1 million copies.
In case you haven't noticed... we're moving closer to the one console future... its gonna happen...

Not any time soon. Also, how do you think it will happen?
I think it's more likely that two of the three companies will back out once they crushed. I don't think it's too likely that all three will combine.

But why wouldn't they port it over and make more money? I mean, from a business standpoint, I don't really see the point of it. If God of War was on all three platforms last generation, they would more than likely just make more money.
the wii is the only one you can count on getting exclusive games its been this way since last gen 80 percent of xbox and ps2 games are third party there for they wont be exclusive to a system unless sony or ms pays big bucks for them to do so
look at all 360 and ps3 exclusives they are made only by ms and sony or their 2nd party devs , nintendo doesnt need to shell out big bucks because every one likes wii quite frankly and since wii doesnt focus on expensive graphics third party makes profit day one , another plus is they already know gamecubes architecture ,, where as all ps3 and 360 games have to be done from scratch ,, and is more harder and more expensive on them to do so , this is why they can not put many games on only one of the other consoles, there are less ps3 and 360 owners then wii owners, so its smart for them to put 80-90 percent of their software on 2 or all platforms, it gives them a broader audience to go from

Theres nothing wrong with that. This has been the most expensive gen for me. Better if its sooner than later. I think nin will always be seperate, ps3/360 might as well be the same console.

if the big 3 joined forces and all released the same console with the same specs and only looks were the difference, i bet fanboys would still find something to argue about. i hope there is a one console future, then we can all just enjoy gaming wthout the sillyness
