what fps can compete with cod mw3?

mw3 is coming out near the end of the year and no other fps will be better than it. since bc2 was just awful and blackops beat it in gameplay,sales and pretty much just everything, i really dont see bc3 being even slight competition for mw3. and also duke nukem is coming out this year but that game is for 2 year olds and looks terrible, so theres not even a small chance that it can compete with mw3.

Are you sure it was BC2 that was "just awful?" Maybe you're thinking of a different game, because it was excellent. And BF3 will destroy MW3 in all ways except sales (I think MW3 will beat out even Black Ops for having the name Modern Warfare alone)

Clearly Battlefield 3 and hopefully MW3 won't beat it in sales (which is probably the only area it has a chance at beating BF3 in).

Sales wise? Probably nothing. Unless people are bored of CoD, which I'm kind of surprised people already aren't. Good game wise? Rage, Deus Ex, BF3, Duke Nukem, Brink, The Darkness 2, Prey 2, and so on. Listing games that could be a lot better than MW3 really isn't hard.

Because there's no way Infinity Ward is going to change the gameplay enough to make me want to play it more than a Battlefield game.

In sales? Very few.

In gameplay? Seeing that they've all been mediocre games coated with high production values, I'd say a great multitude of FPS will beat Call of Duty in terms of quality gameplay.

FPS to beat MW3 in sales? Probably none. CoD remains the "cool" game to have as far as FPS's go. As far as gameplay goes, I am much more hyped about BF3, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Red Orchestra 2.

Pretty much nothing to add here since everyone has already pointed out what's pretty likely. Most FPSes this year will probably have better gameplay than Call of Duty, but only Battlefield 3 has a snowball's chance in hell of competing in terms of sales. Just the facts of life at the moment.

What do you mean compete? If you mean by sales and popularity then nothing, really.

If you mean by score(quality), well, then alot of games I can guarantee you will out score it. Brink, Rage, Gears of War 3(Don't give me that "it's a third person shooter" bs, it's still a straight up shooter) and Red Faction: Armegeddon. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier if it comes out this year. Maybe even F.3.A.R and Spec Ops: The Line.

I don't expect the next CoD to score too high. Probably low 8s.

This. CoD, for reasons beyond comprehension, sells bucket loads despite being not only worse with than the last CoD with every iteration, but being worse than all other FPS games as well.

Well, I'm glad to hear that Duke Nukem is for two year olds. I wasn't sure who that game was aimed at for awhile. :roll:

FEAR 2 wasnt that bad. Not nearly as good as the first one, but one of the few FPSs I actually enjoyed thanks to decent AI and gunplay.

I really wonder how FEAR 3 will turn out, the coop could be nice.
