what does the gamespot community think gives the best war experience in a game?

I don't know about KZ2, but GRAW gives an extremeley good one.

It depends on what "experience" you'd like to get out of war. I think CoD may give the best multiplayer experience, but in any sense of the word "war", it's completely out.

Red Orchestra, on the other hand. If you get into a big game (especially in Darkest Hour), it's confusing, it's chaotic and brutal. It loses points for graphics, but the immersion factor is just crazy. You run out into the Danzig Marketplace, there are clouds of smoke suffusing the place, Russian tracers tearing apart the field, men huddled together trying to get some cover, no one daring to rush forward... it's beautiful.

Killzone 2 and Call of Duty 4 at times, but mostly Call of Duty 2 and World at War.

Well, best may be a little confusing to define. In terms of realism, ArmA 2 cannot be matched. It is simply leagues above the rest. But in terms of the "fun" factor, I don't know. I personally think ArmA 2 is fun, but many others disagree.

Day of Defeat sure, but as much as CSS fan that I am, it really doesn't give you that war realism.

they have great gameplay, but the atmosphere of the games just doesn't make you feel like you're in an intense battle fighting for your life.

killzone 2 truly shows how dark and gritty a war can be. its just crazy

ARMA II is the war game.

ArmA 2. The rest of the games are too unrealistic to even be considered close to a "war" experience.

why is it funny that i think Killzone 2 givesgood war experience i had so much fun going through on elite where one head shot ur dead and there is non stop action everywhere the last mission is so epici know its more of a sci fi story but the weapons are all based on today's time (except a few)and have best recoil i have seen in a console game

i have not played ARMA 2 but will check it out to see how that game feels
