What game coming out in 2009 are you hoping doesn't turn out to be a pile of steaming poop, but still have a lot of suspicions that it definitely could? My vote goes to MadWorld. It looks all kinds of sick, but from everything I've read and seen about the game, nothing seems to solidify that the game is actually any fun to play the entire way through.
I thought the title meant "what game do you really want to come into existence" (in which case the answer would be a tie between Freespace 3, Homeworld 3, System Shock 3, Mechwarrior 5, and Monkey Island 5). There aren't many games that I want to succeed but am not sure about; I don't even know many 2009 titles, to be honest.

personally, I want every game to be a great because it would be good for gaming as a whole. Anyone who wishes for a game to fail is either an idiot or some fanboy trying to justify their console purchase.
I am honestly just crossing my fingers on the possibility of Tsunko (or how ever the hell you spell it) vs Capcom comes out for the Wii in the US.. sSubZerOo
Disciples 3 : I enjoyed the first two games a lot, hope it is good . Also since the same developer is suppose to work on Jagged Alliance 3, a good disciples game would raise hopes for a good jagged alliance 3 also
Killzone 2. I could say a game such as Final Fantasy XIII or RE5 but those games are almost guaranteed to be great. Killzone on the other hand is an unproven series...but for what we've seen so far, it looks like Killzone 2 is going to be great...I hope lol.
Killzone 2- I need a shooter for my PS3, and there's no way in hell I'm playing a Resistance title after that mind-numbingly bad commercial for R2.
GT5- The main reason I bought a PS3, and thus far Prologue has been an absolute cluster****.
Splintercell: Conviction- Based on the gameplay footage it's a day 1 buy for me, but all the delays are worrying to say the least.
Dragon Age- The gameplay we've seen is decidedly *not* console-friendly, so the announcement that it is going to consoles raises questions. Not to mention the whole EA thing.
Halo Wars- Honestly I'm kind of a Halo fanboy, but also I'm a big fan of rts and Ensemble is (was) one of my favorites. I really hope their last project is something great.
FEAR 2- This was one of the few games to legitimately scare the **** out of me and here's to another month of being to scared to turn off the lights.
Guild Wars 2- Being sort of an anti- Warcraft and anti- Monthly subscriptions this is kind of my go to MMORPG game so it better at least impress me.
EDIT: Also I'm really looking forward to "I am Alive".- Its survival/post apocolyptic type setting really has me wanting to play this, it seems really different from generic shooters adventure games and such. Plus it takes place in my home city so it will be sort of my preparation for when something completely obliterates Chicago.
Killzone 2: The first one sucked, and this one actually looks pretty good Halo Wars: I love the Halo series, not really RTS' though. Halo 1 brought me into shooters, maybe Halo wars will bring me into RTS' MadWorld: Looks to damn cool to suck

I'll say Infamous. I don't have the faintest idea if it will be good or not , but I certainly see a lot of interesting qualities about it at this point (and some things I probably won't like about it). I tend to struggle liking just about every sanboxy game I try because of the missions and the way the game setups are. Hopefully this one can be immersive and engaging instead of just randomnly generic and repetitive objectives throughout.
