Sony never really settled on a mascot like the other brands.

They had a bunch of options that none really took over, which I think says good things about the early years of PS support. PS2 didn't have shit for first-party support, but it had a lot of great 3rd part games.

not attempting to troll at all.. I have not had a PS since the PS1 and the last game I played on it was Grand Turismo (I have played friends PS consoles since though).

I just was not aware if (other than what I listed) they had one name that stood out among the rest. Looking at your list SOCOM would be another one.. not sure if you went to the average casual gamer and said "Sly Cooper" they could tell you what console it was for.. the same way if you said "Sunset Overdrive" the average casual gamer could not tell you that it was an XBOX game. I think to make it a "known franchise" there has to be multiple releases of a game in the series (3 or more)

Sony has a crap ton of IPs that will be different as being known for depending on what you play. For me... it's Uncharted.

@Star67: You're butthurt over the OP's picks for PS, and Gran Turismo is synonymous with Sony, its flagship franchise, highest selling franchise, and i'm no cow such as yourself so maybe you can correct this part if wrong, but the only Sony franchise to have a game on every single PS. Well Nintendo = Mario, Xbox = Halo, and Sega = Sonic is a lock. Not too sure about Sony but I guess God of War would probably be what it would most be linked to.

Nintendo and Sony are not consoles, but console makers. Also, unlike Sony which has its Playstation brand, and Microsoft with its Xbox brand, Nintendo does not have a long-standing console brand. The NES/Famicom and Wii brands were each discontinued after two generations and I doubt that the success of the Nintendo Switch will change that.

I think Sony and PC are more similar due to how many faces they have for the platform.

Sony - Crash, Drake, Kratos, GT, etc.

PC - Blizzard Games, Valve Games.

Nintendo - I feel this is definitely Mario until the end of boomer gen.
