The closest thing I can find that is recient is Overlord. The whole fable meets pikman thing really appealed to me for some reason.
It did too good for your topic with a 7.5 but it's still one of the lower scoring titles that I actually bought.

Gonna sound like a broken record here, but Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn was fantastic.tbone29
I like Army of Two (6.5 @ GameSpot). I think I like it because I do not play a lot of FPS or TPS, so I did not have anything to compare it to. However, I also liked the single player controls that can be used to give commands to your partner, because I liked being able to give orders to my partner to get the desired results.
I also loved the first two GTAs that I had for PS1 (8.0, 6.9 respectively at GameSpot; 70.7%, 69.2% at GameRankings). A buddy of mine and I used to love going on rampages in that game. However, I have never been able to rekindle that feeling in the subsequent GTAs (I haven't played GTA IV, but you would think I would have liked the ones on PS2).

The Neverhood, LostWinds, Crimson Skies, Tron 2.0.MetroidPrimePwnCrimson Skies got an 8.9. Man I wish that thing would get a sequel.
Genji for the PS2 and for the PS3. I dont know why, I just found it fun.Javy03
I loved the PS2 Genji, still haven't played the PS3 version though I want to. I'm just waiting for it to become cheap (at my GameStop it's still $60, even though Oblivion and Orange Box are at $39.99) so I can buy it.

That would have to be my favorite low scoring game.

Alot of games I found enjoyable in the last few years are between 7 and 8 here.
Mad Dash Racing
DoA:Xtreme Beach Volleyball
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Mario Party 4
Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction
Those all scored pretty low with gamespot, but I liked em.
The Legend of DragoonSOedipus
Wow, another game I really enjoyed that is poorly rated.
Good things I don't take reviews as laws or I would've missed out on some of my favorite games.
XIII - Think it got 6.4 Here, that was a little bit unfair in my opinion, Killzone was also better than Gamespot said, it was a buggy game with potential.
I have a list of what are some of my most underated and undervalued games on my Blog.
These are currently, not in any specific order, the most underrated and under appreciated games i have ever played, that nobody else did, They are not perfect by any means, but certainly worth a play, some of them fell completely off the mainstream radar and its a royal shame as many gamers simply don't know these great games exist.
- Divine Divinity (PC)
- Clive Barkers : Undying (PC)
- Vampire The Masquerade : Bloodlines (PC)
- Discworld Noir (PC/PS)
- Sacred (PC)
- The Nomad Soul (PC/DC)
- Carrier Command (DOS/AMI/STe)
- XIII(PC/PS2/GC/XBOX)
- Messiah (PC)
- Anachronox (PC)
Honorable mentions would go to the likes of Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and Fallout 2 but i didn't include them as they have gained massive popularity in recent years, probably due to word of mouth on Internet forums.

Shadowrun scored lower than a 7. Loved it. Castlevania: Curse of Darkness last-gen. Game was awesome.
^^^ if XIII really scored 6.5 then chalk that up on my list as well.
Keep forgetting that LO scored less than 8... *adds to list*
The first Powerstone as well. I enjoy 2 much more but I really liked the first. Probably the game where I decided I wanted a Dreamcast.
Hell nobody talks about how great X-Com, Little Big Adventure, Operation Flashpoint, Startopia, Dungeon Keeper 2, Black and White and Carmageddon 1 and 2 Were, i should add them to my list ive been blogging.
Ive probably forgot dozens of awesome games ive played over the years too, Syndicate Wars ect.
what game that scored 7 or lower have you loved? Ive actually liked 2 games, dune 2000 and killzone. yea, i liked killzone. i played dune 2000 when i was a kid but its still game il play for the PC every now and then.-HalleR-
i actually really enjoyed army of two.
Anything sub- 8.0 is almost unplayable. JPOBS
Come on, thats a little harsh dude, Deus Ex and System Shock 2 barely scored above that, and they are in my top 10 greateast games ever made.
Timeshift
Carmegeddon was GREAT
and DDK racing OMG man that was the single best kart game i have played
Mario Kart 64, Red Steel
EDIT: I don't really love Red Steel, it was just enjoyable. I'll just go with MK64 then.

Silent Hill Origins and Legend of Heroes (7.1 is close enuff) on psp. I feel like PSP games get graded harshly because psp has the technology
hmac777
I forgot Origins scored so poorly. I'd add that to my list. Definitely my favorite PSP game.

tenchu z is by far my favorite 360 exclusive. i'm a huge tenchu fan however. i seriously would love to slug the idiot that reviewed that game as most of it was just nonsense. its not for everyone but for those who don't mind some old school tenchu gameplay, it was fantastic.ninjaxams
I'm sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more. I loved Tenchu 2 on PS1, and had high hopes for Z, but it turned out to be by far the worst game I've played on the 360 so far. I completely agree with the review in that case...
