What game will live on?

Despite the fact I love a good argument about graphics (as does everyone), I got thinking about something else.

What games from this generation will you go back to in ten/twenty years time, and be widely accepted as the games which highlighted this period in time - regardless ofhow it looks at the moment (think of FFVII for those of you who keenly remember that)?

Mass Effect. I have dreamed of it :oops:

Uncharted, Mass Effect, Stalker.

It's been 25 years since Super Mario Bros. Debuted.

I'm pretty sure that game and franchise will continue to go on for another 25 years.

Super Mario Galaxy and Demon's Souls. These are the two games I see as utter masterpieces that cannot be improved upon. There are other games this gen I like just as much, but I feel they can be topped. With DS and SMG I don't see any huge flaws they can improve upon, they can only match the games. Uncharted 3 can easily top 2 if ND handles it right. It's not necessary, I'd already hand out a 10/10 to UC2 without thinking twice, but they could improve even further upon it with maybe more free roaming platforming (not an open-world environment, I mean like a huge level where you can climb on whatever looks plausible to you. I would never say any Bioware will be considered the best of the time since they are literally every year pushing out more and more that are as good or better than their last. I mean ya in 10 years people will say Mass Effect is amazing like we say about Baldur's Gate now, but then in 10 more years whatever they make then will be considered the new classic, Bioware is one company that is great on constantly improving and they work in a genre that can constantly be refined. Not knocking on them, I'm complimenting Bioware.
