What games do you really care about?

Was just looking through all the games from gamescom. I think there are only 2 games I'm really excited about. The last of us and Beyond two souls and I don't even have a ps3 lol. Everything else is a continuation of a series that i never really liked that much. Dishonored looks pretty cool as well. So 3 games is better than none I guess. But even the last of us seems like it doesn't stray that far away from uncharted as far as formula. Just a different setting with zombies which is cool enough and it looks amazing.

Everything else is more call of duty. More halo. What about those of us who don't really care about these games? Kind of discouraging. But do developers realize there are gamers out there who just don't really care about these franchises?

Does that make me not a gamer because I don't like these games? It seems like i'm becoming not a gamer because it's either like this or go away. But I'm still a gamer even though i don't play these games?

I never obssess over the future too much. I wait for something to come out and see the reactions. I look forward to games from certain publishers and developers. But I hardly track their progress as it tends to drive me mad in anticipation.

I know GTAV is coming out, and I've seen a few vids. But until it comes out, I'll largely forget about it.

This year? I think only AC3, maybe Halo 4. Next year: Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, Total War: Rome 2.

Cool. I'd like to hear suggestions of what everyone likes. I'm looking for good games and struggling. Does anyone else feel my pain though? It's like if i don't like halo, cod or pandas i'm not a gamer i guess. I sort of like pandas. But i'm wow'd out. Their cgi is amazing but i tend to think it's more dealing with blizzard's bs.

I hear that. I like bethesda and rockstar. Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream are good. They seem to make games up my alley usually. Growing up I liked so many games though. Nowadays I'm lucky if i find 2.

Blizzard used to be one of my favorite developers but they've managed to completely turn me off. Same with EA.

Dota 2, Lords of Shadow 2 and Rome 2 are pretty much at the top of my list. I have dota 2 already though, but really I don't know where all this doom and gloom is coming about when it comes to not enough variety... there's alot of games out there I'm interested in from all sorts of genres.

Not much lately. I haven't touched a game in a few weeks now, reading has become my hobby of choice again. I forgot Gamescon was even on. I'm interested to see how much the Halo franchise has been butchered, though I'm also half interested to see if the semi-metroid feel seen in one of the campaign trailers translates into the final game.

The Witness is a game I'm still anticipating and hoping turns out well. It's Jonathan Blows next game after Braid, and it seems interesting. To be honest, I'm almost only interested in indie games lately because big budget titles tend to play it too safe for the past few years and I've already played them all, only with a slightly older coat of paint. If you want a new idea, it seems you have to wait for an indie developer to do it. If you want a polished new idea, you have to wait for a big publisher/developer to steal it.

Probably just Deadspace 3 for now. A good deal of titles that look great, like dishonored, Hawkin, Halo 4, last of us, etc....but I don't have an urge to actually buy them yet. It's complicated, but I think I'm loosing interest in gaming...Being a dedicated fan of Deadspace and it's universe though, I plan on sticking through the thick & thin for #3, and hoping it's as fun as the first 2.

Past games would be Mgs2 and 3, Way of the samurai 1, MvC2, Mario 64, and Megaman X.

Guild Wars 2, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Rift: Storm legion

Might grab Sleeping Dogs, it at least has my attention. My next most anticipated game is definitely the XCom:Enemy Unknown reboot, and Dishonored looks like a good buy for me as well. Ealry 2013 seems pretty good too with Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and South Park RPG that all have my interest.

Total War: Rome II (the only Total War game i liked was Rome, hope the sequel is better)
