So, is there anything comparable for PS3 in 2008 like the below ?

Fable 2, huge open dynamic world, huge innvations first ever in a RPG, above stunning graphics

Alan Wake, 36 Square miles of fre raming stunning looking villages, forests etc in a triller adventure

Project Offste, medieval warfare TPS, hero classes, beats to ride, huge wars, some of the best graphics this gen

This is comparable to what excatly ? Gears ? I did not ask for dark linear shooters

well lost odyssey is ful of bugs and getting medicore reviews so far.

You didnt, but that doesnt change the fact that you can play those games without a 360. That devalues the title. Sure the PS3 doesnt have them, but just how much value do those titles have if they can be played on various other systems as well? After all, if they can enjoy Alan Wake and Proj. Ofsset with a PS3 and a PC, its not exactly a big deal for the 360.

a lot of your comments seem to be about the graphics and open world nature of these games. i think ill pick up gta4 for a win in both departments. in the meantime im playing oblivion, which i think is an amazing game.

theoretically, any COW could play those game if they wanted... because who doesnt have atleast one pc in their home? So they are not at all exlusive. Now as far as wanting to, i doubt hardly anyone would want to play one of those THAT BAD that they either A. buy a 360, or even B. buy the game for their pc. So who really cares about them?

Unfortunately for the TC, the 360 and PS3 do not exist in a vacuum. The PC exists, and it dulls the sting of this weak ownage you are attempting to claim.

About Fable 2

- 100x more next gen graphics than Oblivion, real dynamic shadows, next gen lighting and detail, real 3D trees, properly lit and shadowed

- unique places everywhere, not one huge generic hub, but full of detail, monsters, NCP's, houses, and generally full of stuff rather than Oblivion last gen looking emptyness

- can buy ALL houses, in thr VAST cites, own the near castle, get quests from them, run shops, and there is a rich/poor meter, like good/evil now, that makes your status on the cosiety go up or down

- you can have kids, play as male/female, have a family

- a dog that follows you, with amazing AI, can help in battle, and find things, point out paths etc

- weather and seasons system

- huge open world, unlike Fable 1 , no fences this time

- vast cities and forests, biggest in such a game and with that detail yet

- amazing art

- real time combat, that takes into consideration the near environment, can push enemies off cliffs, stamp them on walls, etc

- 1000x more lively NPC's than Oblivion, and synamic behaviours that Oblivon could only fream of with its brain dead NPC's

And many more we do not know of yet !!!!

About Alan Wake, yes it is a thiller/adventure, it is announced as such

About Project offset, it is a TPS actually, a shooter in medieval world with huge wars, can wait for that game, a rare thing indeed

About Lost Odyssey, i know reviews will trash that game, because it uses an old battle system, well old as we say amazing tried and tested system, but still will get crap reviews, that does not mean i want it any less, especially knowing it is like having FF10 sequel in its next gen form, the game is STUNNING in everyway for a FF gamer like me, who cares for reviews ?

God of War is for 2009, and is not the same genre as Ninja Gaiden, it is same genre as Devil may Cry, no contest there, GOW is an action title, Ninja Gaiden is a precision fighting game, no room for mistakes in this one, and have to time moves to perfection, again, GOW3 is not in the same league at all

Lost oDyssey comes in a few weeks, no matter how good FF13 will be, LO win in 2008, and frankly the overly high tech FF13 theme, is not any better than LO epic world so far

FF13 is supposed to come out this year. and just because a game is "next gen" doesnt make it good. spiderman 3 is next gen and its really bad.

I want Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, and Project Offset real badly, and I do want to see how Alan Wake fares.

Regardless, PS3 has some stellar exclusives that I am looking forward to. MGSIV, InFamous, Resistance 2, plus if SE keeps to their word (not likely) FFXIII.

Out of the 8 games I listed, I would say in order of how much I want them it goes like:

FFXIII

Fable 2

MGSIV

Project Offset

InFamous

Lost Odyssey

Alan Wake

Resistance 2

As you can see, it almost goes every other one. I would put PO higher but aside from the vids, screens, and concept art that is out, we know nothing about it. But its still one of my most hyped games. FFXIII and Fable 2 are almost interchangeable as well, so I'll put it this way. If I didn't own a PS3, I would buy one for FFXIII which in turn would get me all those other good games (prolly would buy one for MGSIV). Since I don't own a 360, I will be buying one for Fable 2 which in turn would get me all those other good games.

You just have not seen how Fable 2 looks, first it has real lighting, not prelit everything, with fake shadows like Oblivion had

And has real houses in towns, not a wall with a door painted

And you can actually get in houses without loading

And the cities are 100x bigger, with 100x more next gen lighting/shadows and 100x more detail in houses, same for forests

And the trees are real 3D trees, notpre-lit 2D sprites, that cast no shadows on ground and themselves !!!

Well, think again, Fable 2 is looking 2-3 generations ahead in graphics, and that comes from the one year old pics we have

It is not the PS3's fault...the Western developers make their games for Western systems...350/PC...also GOW is an amazing game sells WAY more and has a much better story, plus it is fun to play...when I played Ninja Gaiden, I fought against enemies who could throw me while I could do nothing but block and time counter shots but then of course you got the rooftop guy shooting arrows...yeah I got a little bored of the combat but it seemed cool...

LO has taken over 2 years to make it to the states, FF will take about the same time because SE is the king of delays..so overall, each system has unique games.

You lost a lot of credibility with me in the bolded quote. You obviously don't know too much about FF. And you want to talk linear? Take a look at Fable. Those paths were so linear from place to place it was insane.

alan wake will probably release in 2009. Maybe the 360 version will be this year though. It's hard to say

FF13 will probably release in japan in 08, everywhere else in 09

Uhhh, Fable sucked and there is nothing that exciting about the 2nd one. The PS3 on the other hand will get FF XIII this year. Fallout 3 will also be much better than Fable 2, after all... Oblivion was the game that the first Fable wished it could have been. Hell Oblivion is better than Fable 2 is going to be.

Alan Wake will hopefully be awesome... but honestly all we have for this game so far is hype. But the devs making it our experienced and I trust them to make a great game. But the PS3 does have comparable games in L.A. Noire and Heavy Rain... also, it is still pretty doubtful that Alan Wake will be released in 2008 according to the guys on the 1UP podcast. Fable 2 is likely to continue being delayed as well... Lionhead is infamous for delays. Hmmm, Infamous is another open world game that I'm looking forward to much more than Fable 2 by the way.

Project Offset is coming out on the PS3 also noob. Plus, this may be vaporware... no news on the game in ages.

Lost Odyssey= just something to play until White Knight Chronicles and FF XIII. It seems like a decent enough rpg, but nothing to brag about. Just a standard rpg with HD graphics... still, I think I'll like it more than Blue Dragon though... that was somewhat disappointing.

NG2 will be awesome but no where near as awesome as I was hoping. I bought the first NG but did not buy Black... So I bought Sigma on the PS3 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately, NG2 doesn't look any different than Sigma aside from the environments and new weapons. Still, I think it will be a must own game for any 360 owner. But as for comparable games, the PS3 will have both DMC4 and GOW III (although not likely to be here until March 09). As far action games, MGS4 will be the best this year anyway.

Plus, there are 20+ unannounced exclusives for the PS3 this year. The main games I'm looking forward to on 360 are Alan Wake and NG2. I'd love to see a sequel to Bioshock, but that probably wouldn't make it until 2009. But the PS3 clearly owns 2008. They've already had more solid exclusives since August and are showing no signs of slowing down.

The Agency is shaping up to be the most innovative MMO in years. Infamous shows tremendous promise from very experienced devs. Resistance 2 will simply own. Killzone 2, I'm still skeptical on but at the very least it will be decent AND likely be the best looking game of 08. LBP is the most innovative title on any platform for this year. MGS4 is MGS4. FF XIII is the most incredible rpg shown to date... FF XIII Versus is supposedly an action title but looks even better. White Knight Chronicles looks very promising if the devs pull everything together... given their reputation, they very likely will. Footage of GOWIII is sure to get everyone's adrenaline pumping... and who knows what other surprises lay in store. I'm sure I'll still be playing both consoles... but one clearly has the most killer line-up and that would be the PS3.
