What games of this gen were not worth full price?

- Released seperate expansion while in early access

- More than doubled the price on release

- Still a buggy unfinished mess

- Runs terrible

- Toxic community

- Cheaper, more polished alternatives

- UI/controls terrible on console

- Rather than improve the game, spam more expansions

- Low poly google image

Upon launch?

SFV, Sea of thieves, GTSport, No Mans Sky, Drive Club, State of Decay II, PUBG to name a few.

No game worth full price actually so i always wait for price drop. buying game on day one is always rip off to me.

• Metal gear solid 5 (really wanted to like it. its gameplay mechanics are great. only to be let down by repetetiveness and bad design and also prologue)
• Any online MP game

1.Tekken 5 if you aren't into the whole competitive stuff.(Story mode was too short)

my friend, 10 to 15 good hour worth more than 100 of boring hours. thats what i mean quality over quantity.

my money worth more on 8 to 10 hour games rather than long and boring games.

lets take an example. Max payne 1 is only 6 to 8 hour long but its worth more than any of boring open world RPG of today.

Just coz you whippersnappers found out about Max Payne 10 years after old boys like me played it, don't pretend you know all the good games.

No Man's Sky was the worst thing to happen to gaming for ages. Typical mobile phone game developer gets ideas above it's station. Sony, being either stupid or surprisingly cunning, missel the game to enormously extravagant degrees. Then proceed to leave the little mobile game company to desperately try and make their FIRST pc game ever to be some kind of game changer.

So it's released and guess what, it's crap. Then everyone goes I told you it would be crap and then goes out and buys it anyway because the back story behind the train wreck that was it's development is so interesting.

Then it gets polished every week forever and some people still pretend it's not a turd. $59.99 on Steam.

On the other hand, I could go for the sparkling, gleaming diamond of pure mediocrity that is The Witcher 3. Simply because people and the industry refuse to accept that game is a flat dry crusty old fart of 100 hours of nothing.

Final Fantasy XV Day One Edition.

• £40 for this at launch price.
• The storyline is incomplete. So many plot holes.
• Those who played this game will feel cheated. To this day, the storyline of this game still isn't done.
• Square launched FF15 Royal Edition featuring the whole of season 1 content. Feel sorry for those who paid full price.
• Season 2 DLC is coming out next year, making this game a pile of crap and not worth getting.

Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. Both were trash at launch. Got alot better after multiple DLC's. Destiny 2 is fn awesome now. Great time to jump in.

Just Cause 3 has plenty of content, but it runs so poorly on consoles that it should have had its price slashed.

Plenty of remasters / over priced ports. FF12, Burnout Paradise, DK Tropical Freeze (Switch), Twilight Princess HD.

Sony tried to get away with overcharging for GOW3 on PS4 but they threw in GOW1 + 2 as damage control if I'm not mistaken.

Mario Tennis. More typical lazy greed by Nintendo, releasing a gutted, barebones game while charging full price.

Hell, even if the entirety of Witcher 3 consisted of only the scene where you get drunk with Eskel and Lambert and try to “summon the bitches”, that alone is at least $20 of entertainment value :P

@uitravioience: Destiny 2 is pretty amazing now. I'm putting about 4 hrs a day in and not at all bored. Gambit was the best thing they added for multiplayer. Triumph book is cool too.

Very few were worth full price to me. Dragon quest XI would probably be the exception. Had green man gaming not had it for $45 USD, I probably would have paid full pop anyways.

Lol yeah... even if you don't like the game, it's ridiculous to say it's not worth the full price. That game has a ridiculous amount of high quality content.

The Order 1886. Loved the game, I think it had a lot of potential. The lore, the graphics and photomode is just fuckin amazing. Unfortunately the campaign is very linear and short, its not worth $60. at $30 the game probably can get an easy 8/10.

Upon launch? Pretty much every AAA game released. Minus the few Nintendo ones. Reason being it’s much better to just wait for the Complete Editions to be released so you don’t wind up paying $100 after all dlcs. I got HZD Complete Edition finally a month ago for $19.95. Felt good to wait for this great game.

Sea of Thieves- There wasn't enough content there to justify a $60 price. They're adding a good amount of content, and will continue to do so for quite awhile, so I'd say it's worth the price now.

Driveclub- Not only was there not enough content at launch to justify the $60 price... It was buggy as well. They eventually got some features in like weather, but it still isn't worth the price.

GT Sport- Not enough content, and basically no single player. Was worth $10 at launch for what you got. Is probably worth $15 now.... Until FH4 releases, at which point why would anyone buy it.

Spiderman- 20 hrs worth of gameplay doesn't justify $60. Sorry, but I need at least a ratio of $1 per hour of gameplay.

The Order 1886- See above.

xbone exclusives were definitely not worth full price.

Tomb Raider 2013 Definitive Edition. They claimed that it was rebuilt from the ground up for ps4 and Xbox One but the only thing that looked any different was Lara herself.

Too many games to list. A lot of them have been postet already. I would add a lot of mostly niche titles nobody knows, like Touhou Genso Wanderer who nobody in here knows xD

@AsadMahdi59: Dude, you're tripping. FFXII: The Zodiac Age was worth every penny and it launched at $39.99. I played that game for like 100 hours and still haven't done everything yet.
