What games would make for a good remake in your opinion?

I’ll start with Xenogears. It’s a cult classic, turn based JRPG set in a futuristic sci fi setting and featured a unique battle system that allowed the characters to fight on foot or jump into a mech and fight as a mech. It had an interesting plot and was known for its deep philosophical themes. It would be cool to see it re-envisioned with today’s hardware. How about you, SW? What games would make for a good remake in your opinion?

Armed and Dangerous or Citizen Kabuto because we need a fun shooter.

I'll stop there as I think you get the point. Any classic/masterpiece that's older than 2008, that has a story and is not "made redundant" by a sequel. (i.e. Diablo. No need to remake that because of Diablo 2)

For example I don't think Vice City or San Andreas need remakes. we just need a new GTA based in VC. IV was the "remake" of 3 and V was the "remake" for SA. GTA 6 will be the "remake" for VC.

Nor do I think we should have remakes of any racing games or sports games of any kind... Just make new ones lol.

Panzer Dragoon Saga and Skies of Arcadia.

Legend of Dragoon and Metal Gear Solid 4. Would love a Motorstorm remake or a proper Burnout remake as well

Now that they've remade Re4 maybe Crapcom can give some love to other franchises. For Devil May Cry I'd prefer a sequel but a remake of 1 or 2 could be cool.

Dino Crisis sequel or remake are both fine imo.

Warhawk from the ps3. Honestly don't even care if they update the visuals.

Wouldn't mind seeing God of War 1 / 2 and or the Psp games get a face-lift and to play a bit more like GoW3.

Plenty of racing games from the ps2 era and some from the ps3 I'd like to see get sequels or remakes.

The only remakes i can accept are from the 6th gen and earlier. Like Splinter Cell CT could be good if done right, but that ain't happening with trash tier devs like Ubi.

Black & White in VR

I just replayed Armed & Dangerous last year, love that game, but it doesn't need a remake.

Hell no, 2 of my favourite Sega games, remaking them would just destroy their legacy's.

Devil May Cry 2. It needs a full RE2 level overhaul. It has potential, some places are atmospheric, the gameplay isn't terrible, but very repetitive and later on you just use guns pretty much. It has most of the puzzle pieces but needs a lot of work.

The other DMC games can stand on their own two. The first one would be an amazing remake because I think it's almost there with the atmosphere, but it needs the camera system from later DMC games and DMC 3 or laters combat system.

What legacy? No one knows these games exist anymore unless they're a collector.

If they did a graphical facelift on par with the Shadows of Colossus remake, that'd be ideal, but otherwise, all I really want is a better framerate, and for Skies of Arcadia in particular, an option to reduce the random battle encounter along with the GCN bonus content.

Xenogears would be a good candidate. Classic case of a game not getting near enough resources. The devs actually didn't get to finish it properly. Would love to see a more modern representation of the world and events.

Can't think of any others. Most of the games mentioned here hold up well and I don't think they need a remake.

One i'd love to see is 'Too Human'. Loved the idea and concept but the controls were so bad, like physically bad on your hands. The last time my wrist hurt that much was when I was 11 and learned how to lock the bathroom door.

I would love some more Smash TV, or some new version of The Running Man. Do a big one where you sneak through a giant cordoned off section of gang filled city, trying to escape capture or death from a crew of unique Hunters. And do a smaller Smash TV arcadey version as well.

I really don't want more remasters or remakes though. If you want more of what you had in the past, just make a sequel with the same mechanics. There are some great ideas and vibes from the past that need to be brought forward.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts.... I don't want remakes in this hobby. It's like rock bands saying "were only doing cover songs from now on...." what a lame future. If we're gonna revisit something, how about something with actual prospect for a new iteration like a smash TV would be? Top down twin sticks are still very relevant and the ip could be made into something great.

Starting to think we should get a reboot/remake of the Bayonetta franchise. Imagine Bayonetta with today's hardware? Would be awesome.
