Happy Thanksgiving, SW! What better way to celebrate, then to talk about gaming things you're thankful for (forget family and all that other stuff). I'm thankful for reversal gaming covers/inserts! Yes, you heard it, it's very rarely mentioned. But many games today have reversible inserts to make that box art even nicer. What about you, SW? What gaming things are you thankful for?

I am thankful that gaming is diverse enough that it can appeal to many types of demographics and not seen as only as a "geek" hobby. Not only that, the growth of the industry allows quality and innovation to exist even if some gamers think otherwise.

I'm thankful for solid framerates, and unified control schemes. We've come a long way.

When a game runs at 60fps it's just such a step up from the olden days where games were 30 with dips to 20.

I am just thankful in general that we have video games. They have given me countless hours of enjoyment. Some people would call it a waste of time, but if you are enjoying life, it isn't waste. I am particularly thankful for the Commodore 64, Sega Genesis, SNES and Xbox 360.

Finally, I am thankful that I never played the Virtual Boy, Atari Jaguar or 3DO...

@R4gn4r0k: What's the last one ? It looks sick.

Anyway ... i'm thankful for Smash Bros ... it sounds dumb but it broke so many "rules" regarding characters and companies, that i'm sure something like this, at this scale will never happen again. it also opened so many doors for collaborations.

Also online play with rollback netcode is allowing me to play figthing games which are my absolute favorite to play competitively.

I'm thankful for autosaves. Many times, I have forgotten to manually save, but was covered by an autosave feature. It's a huge blessing.

We're living in a golden age of independent games and "retro" games being easy to access and cheap/free on the PC. I don't know how long it will last, but it's a great ride while we're here.

Bought it yesterday in the Steam Black Friday sales: it's Age of Darkness and it's really, really cool :D

I'm thankful that *knocks on wood* all my hardware is currently working without issue. hardware prices are just mad (and about to get even more crazy before christmas).

its pretty old hardware but its doing the job and, so far, is giving me no trouble.

I'm thankful that I'm ready to buy a new computer.

I won't buy one today with these rip-off prices though. I'll wait until things get back to normal.

I have enough games on my backlog to tide me over plus some consoles.

@madsnakehhh: if the Smash Bros. games are re-released in future platforms years from now, I wonder how would Nintendo continue to keep the third-party fighters and music tracks. I would be disappointed if the re-releases had to remove some third-party fighters or music tracks because of royality or copyright issues.

This year?

Metroid was dope. Melty Blood is dope. Hitman 3. Halo is in a healthy place, albeit could be better. I'll probably feel positive about deathloop and returnal when i can be bothered to actually play them.

I'm thankfull I was finaly able to get Bayonetta 2 for switch after searching for weeks on end. seriously it was getting really hard to find a physical copy of it in my country for a reasonable price. Managed to grab a 2nd hand copy for only 30 euros. The cheapest I had seen it previously was for over 100 euros!
