Tell me SW, why is this?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Aside from hair style differences, which is to be expected since the two sets of pictures are decades apart, what's so different?
Is that a guy or a girl in the left corner of "Devs Now"
i have no idea but i wouldn't tap dat for sure
I don't consider Jennifer "Hamburger Helper" a dev, not after her literary works consists of poor lesbian "novels".
Phil Fish might look kinda weird but his game was good.
By god I don't know what that other thing is.
Whats the difference? All I see is a bunch of nerds in both pics
i was about to say that myself
Game devs then - " we should make a game that is fun, creative and offers good experience"
Game devs now - " we should make a fps that can sell like call of duty"

I'm pretty sure I see an adam's apple.

No, that is wrong. It's the publishers that force some devs to make whatevers popular or clone other games. You think Infinity Ward or Treyarch wouldn't like to do something creative ? Well, though luck, it's either create more COD or quit for them.
You think Danger Close wanted to rape the MOH series by making such a bad clone ? No, it was EA that wanted them to make a 'COD' killer.
TC, if you're referring to their weight and the general look, well check these guys out... GS won't let me upload pictures.
It was much easier to set new standards in the time of id Software, 3D Realms, Epic etc. Everything they did back then was considered godly, mostly because it was. Wolfenstein 3D was revolutionary because it was a genre defining title. Levels that Levelord made were considered legendary because he was the first guy who had the balls to make levels like that for Duke Nukem 3D, SiN and Quake. Carmack and Broussard were considered gods. And the most important thing about their work - they didn't need insane marketing to get recognition, their games did that.
It's extremely difficult to do that today.
I did some reading on Jennifer Hepler. It seems she would prefer interactive novels to actual video games.
I'm sure your local library has a few choose-your-own-adventure novels left over from the 80's and early 90's, Jennifer.
God..........*smh*. Somebody actually hired this woman as a video game writer? No wonder Bioware is such a mess. You know what, I'm not even going to buy DA3 now. I've had it up to here with Bioware!!!!!!!!
crazy and spontaneous vs boring nerds?
one of the boring nerd looks like a hipster though...
And changing the subject a bit, haven't you guys noticed that most game developers are like too intelligent to be wasting their time making games? Like Corrine Yu worked for Nasa, one of the founders of Naughty Dog, Andy Gavin worked on jet propulsion, Carmmack makes rockets, etc.

I disagree, its got nothing do with intelligence or wasting their time. Game development is something they enjoy. Thats like saying. "You seem too intelligent to be playing video games, here's a serious of complex maths questions to do".
