psp is good if you want a console on the go. i would not buy one if you have a ps2 or ps3 you use at home alot. the reason being is psp is like a water down console . if you are out alot then psp is good to replace a console. if you will play it at home then its not. if you want a true hand held ds lite is the best way to go. cus its made like a hand held .deadmeat59I have both a DS and a PSP and I totally agree. If I could only have one gaming device, it would be a PSP because it's portable and yet has many console like experiences and with the new TV-out capability you can even play on your TV.
However, if you already have home consoles or play games on your PC (which most people on these forums have) then the DS is the better option. It is a great portable because it doesn't have load times, the screen is easier to see in sunlight, battery life is longer, clamshell design means it's easier to carry aound, it's smaller, and there are more portable friendly games available for it. Not to mention that it is also cheaper and the games are cheaper as well.
i own a psp but not a ds, and i would still have to agree with most of the people in here, if your buying it for the sake of having a handheld then the ds is the way to go it simply has games ment for handhelds more so then the psp, but if your looking for an all in one handheld so you can listen to music, play the somewhat small library of games (even though there are just as many good-great games on either gaming device) or if your interested in the homebrewing apsect of the psp (cuz you can do alot of really cool things with a modded psp)
i would say the ds is the safer bet in that theres a better chance youll find the type of games you like on handhelds
