I have a 360 and the media center options are nice but am wondering how the PS3's are?

Don't you mean which is the better entertainment center. I think PS3, but only by a bit.Kekira
yes, tks
well, i dont really know what the ps3 features are but the 360:
- DVD player
- Music- may load music or stream it from a windows pc
- VIdeos- may load videos, download tv shows form XBL, or stream from a pc
- Xbox Media Center (if your pc has it)
- Xbox Live (dont want to start on the features)
for PS 3, you can install operating system such as Linux, and still be utilizing the stuff that PS 3 has. such as the Wi-Fi, Hard-drive, Blu-ray...
some people have installed an XP to their PS 3 too.
i'm not sure if you can do the same with 360... *my 2 cents*
you can't install Windows XP on the PS3. and the 360 has the better media center capabilities, it can stream music/photos/videos from your PC, the PS3 can't do that.for PS 3, you can install operating system such as Linux, and still be utilizing the stuff that PS 3 has. such as the Wi-Fi, Hard-drive, Blu-ray...

It's true it can, the only diff between the two that makes the PS3 a bit better is that it provides a hi-def movie experience and that's about it.

It's probuably a modded system. There's no way Sony would allow a Microsoft program to be installed in their console. It'd be helping the enemy. XD
it is legit, here's how you can do it. first download Fedora or Yellow Dog for PS 3 to install Linux on PS 3. then with Linux, you can install XP, just like that.
funny how clowns don't know what they are talking about here.
XMB is easy to navigate. The PS3 takes the Super Audio CD format, but sort of limited. The 360 has Windows Media Center, which is a big advantage - If you have Media Center on your computer and care to set it up that is. You can load vdeos to your PS3 better, but format somtimes is a problem. With videos, You can also make a 15-second clip for the thumbnail on PS3. PS3 wins in slideshows as well, by amount and quality. It's a close match really, though I only boasted the PS3's mostly. I would go with the PS3 being the better media center.a-tek
I was playing around with the media center settings last night and it is great. I mainly run windows XP on my little home network. I also have a MAC but haven't even tried any kind of file sharing with that yet.

Now, why did you go and own him like that? He was only trying to make the 360 look good.
The ps3 had a wayyyyyyy better media center then the 360..
PS3:
Music: you can take music from you computer, memory cards,CD,psp, ipot and many more
Video:play any kind of video and Blue Ray.
Internet browser
Save Pictures

You can also download your movies via Internet if they are .MP4, .MPG format.
there is no comparison, PS3 is way better. but obviously, here is infested with lemmings, therefore, lots of people are going to say X360.xxThyLordxx
I just recently bought a 360. I would like the PS3 but going to wait for a price drop.

Ummm, no. PS3 does not play WMV, AVI and MOV formats. That is unless you running Linux or XP on it.

Xbox 360.
-Windows Media Center Extender-Allows me to stream music, movies, and photos ( I don't have to deal with Orb *junk* )
-Offers an online service that allows me to download movies in high-definition (completely gets rid of the need for Blu-ray)
I own a PS3, and the 360 is superior in every single way as a media center or entertainment hub.

Yeah.
I'm not saying the PS3 is bad in any way though. The PS3 is also a great media center, but I just use the 360 more for that kind of thing.

but it still does lolThe only feature that is missing from the xbox 360 is divx support. The best way to go is to hook up a mybook. I have all my music and videos on this drive, however most movie downloads or anime are not in window media format.... and converting them is a pain.... Adding divx support would be all that needs to be done to make the sytem perfect.
