I purchased Mario rabids for 30, hitman 1 complete for 20, a bunch of indies, god of War for 20, burnout paradise and even Steep! (of course now it's free next month... Blah!)

Still thinking on getting shadow of war for 12.99 on playstation store aaaand maybe AC odyssey for 30... Though 30 is top tier pricing unless I reeeally want it so I may wait it out.

Well I got Far Cry 5 and AC Odyssey on Steam during their winter sale.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory on Steam for 3 euros and Butcher on Switch for 4 euros.

Thinking about getting DQXI on Steam. Heard it's coming for Switch, but who knows when.

I got Assassin's Creed Odyssey for $30, and a Dualshock 4 for $50. Saved $75 plus tax, so I'm pretty happy with that.

I got a Dell 24 inch 1440p / 144hz g-sync monitor for $300 which makes me very happy.

Think of picking up AC Odyssey think it's something like 27.99 on the ms store.

@cainetao11: Im only part way through origins too which is why I won't pull the trigger yet. I haven't heard anyone say anything real negative about odyssey... Kind of excited to play it. Who knows, maybe we get it for 20 bucks?

Graveyard Keeper. It's basically Stardew Valley, but with a dark twist. Fun game, not for me though, thought it was going to be more of a management sim than...whatever it is. No slight against it, though, I can sort of see the appeal it's a pretty relaxing game.

Also got Dead Cells. Not sure if "rogue light" (right title?) games are for me, but it's pretty fun. I can see why it's so highly regarded.

As you can see, I take advantage of sales to get games from genres I am not really into. I try to set a budget for myself but sometimes if the game is really well regarded I might spend a bit more.

Shadow of War and AC Odyssey are probably 150+ hours of fresh gameplay combined, if not more. I highly recommend both. They don't do anything surprising and are exactly what you expect them to be, but they are nonetheless fun singleplayer experiences. On a dollar-per-hour basis, they are good deals even at full price; anything at or under 30 dollars would be a steal.

Their "boss" systems (SoW has the orc captains, and AC: O has mercenaries) are really fun. If you ever get a "_______ the Minstrel/Bard" modifier on an orc, you're in for a real treat :)

I like AC: Odyssey more than Origins, actually, which is saying a lot because I absolutely looooooooove ancient Egyptian history and mythology. Greece is pretty interesting, too.

You didn't happen to get the "megacorps" DLC for Stellaris, did you? It's the only one I don't have because it's new and 20 dollars. I'm sure it's a good DLC but I don't buy DLC at full price...usually.

It appeals to me because sci-fi and megacorps--Weyland-Yutani from Alien and Predator series, Tyrell from Bladerunner, OCP from RoboCop, etc) but I am not sure if I want to spend 20 bucks on it.

I can see that happening. To be honest, I never fell in love with AC games. I remember '07 being as hyped as everyone else for the first game and it got monotonous. I played 2, recognize that they improved it but IDK why I just never got sucked into them. Havent finished an AC game since 2 LOL

I find it hard to believe that Oblivion is 12 years old.

Not because it's survived the test of time, but because it's been 12 fucking years since it came out. I feel so old.

Hopefully they'll patch it soon.

I see Dragon Quest XI is on sale on the PS Store for $35. It's a series I might like to try and I heard that game is pretty good.

My PS4 is currently not hooked up due to me having somehow lost the AC adapter when moving from one room to another. I have no clue how that even happened, but I'll have to buy another one before I get to play games on it. I still haven't finished Odyssey.

I usually buy a few games from the Xbox Store around the holidays with deep discounts, but I either own the games I want or I’m just not interested in the selection. I was hoping the Atari Flashback V1/2/3 would go on sale, but it didn’t so I didn’t bother. The only thing I bought was Ms Pacman for I think a buck or two.

Yeah I was thinking about picking it up again from the Xbox Store, since it's extremely cheap atm... but I played it already at launch. But it is a fantastic game, and one of the best SP shooter campaigns I've played all gen. It's an absolute steal at this price for those that haven't played it.

Other than that, I picked up Battlefield V quite cheap in store on boxing day, which was decent. And I also got the Phantom Black XB1 controller (which is sexy!). Not much else really.

Yeah it really is. The wall running and controlling the Titan in singleplayer is really fun. Plus I have to say that it has the best controls in any FPS that I have ever played. Hopefully we get a Titanfall 3.

@jeezers: I have no idea to be honest, I haven't tried it online yet. I saw it for £7 and thought what the heck. From what I've played of the single player campaign it feels and plays like Dawn of War.

I think the multiplayer will be limited as they have not added any other races, 3 factions would never be enough to keep Warhammer 40K fans happy for long.

@cainetao11: same here with AC. The first wasn't at all what I was hoping it would be (there was talk about Thief inspirations? Give me a break - no resemblance). Powered through 2, and was done at that point. I've since acquired free copies of Black Flag and Origins that I keep telling myself I will play... But Idk, something about it just doesn't excite me

Understood. I bought AC3 because I love the time period but again I couldn't get into it after like 5-7 hours. I got 4 from GWG and I don't remember if I ever fired it up. Maybe while drunk LOL I bought Origins on sale because many friends told how different from normal AC games it was and to give it a shot. I just don't care about AC I guess LOL

Oh what is really cool abut the switch is the reward points for buying digital. All the stores need this. I didn't pay 2 games due to this. Really cool, they just need to update with ratings and playtime like 3ds has.
