Only a few games support splitscreen. Seriously, i love playing Halo or Gears 2 co-cop or versuswith my pals. But for example, Uncharted would of been great with co-op. Same goes with MGS4, splitscreen would of made me enjoy the game. There are many games on PS3 that need splitscreen. Nothing beats a couch and 4 guys full of beer. Online doesnt come close.

I don't like the lack of a "community" feeling on PSN. I have never met more great people or felt like a team than I have with xbox live. Everyone on xbox live has a mic and we chat and it feels like a team. On PSN, not very many people have a mic so it just feels like a bunch of people running around shooting.

Playin Halo and Gears would be extremely different to playing Uncharted and MGS split screen.

Halo and Gears were pretty much made for the mulitplayer..

Uncharted and MGS were made for Single player.

Wow Gears and Halo are made to be great for multiplayer games. They give you more than 1 character fighting the sam battle at the same time.

Uncharted and MGS4 are not meant to be multiplayer games. Solid Snake roles by himself the whole time, and in Uncharted you only partner with the girl for a little bit of the game. I don't see how split screen would have made those games better.

Killzone 2 should have had co-op though.

Killzone 2 would have blown everything away in the dirt if it had co-op.

Online Co-op also... Guerilla needs to get on this.

No, sometimes it's good with no mics.. Do you understand how annoying some people can be.

Especially the terrible music that some people blast through it..

PSN is perfect. I don't understand what else people need for it. Sign in, play the game online..

and that's it.

I used to complain about that until i got Killzone 2. Now i wish people would throw their mics into the trash can. or at least add a feature to cue the chat.

Singleplayer titles? add splitscreen and then it has multiplayer. Your point? Sure some games are great singleplayers, that doesnt mean they cant be good multiplayers. Gears of war was originally a single player title only. 3 months away from release they said 'hey, lets add some multiplayer'. It became the most popular game on xbox live. Uncharted is pretty similar to Gears of War. MGS already has multiplayer, so why not splitscreen? The multi wouldnt of been so bad if i could of played it with a guest at least. Same goes for a lot of other titles. You dont know until you try it, and the option is always welcome. The more the better.

if thats the case then yeah, i mean its mainly for communication, if theres no way i can communicate with my friends or players it takes away from the experience & does not enrich it.

After Killzone 2 came out, I realized I only want to play singleplayer games for it and to use it for bluray movies, nothing more. All my multiplayer fun went to xbox live which just had a way better feel to me then psn had. Plus Killzone multiplayer was terrible for me except for the 32player idea was good

I responding to your initial post, which complained about Uncharted and MGS4 not having multiplayer splitscreen.

Gears of War received a lot of complaints regarding its multiplayer content. So the "hey, lets tack on some multiplayer" approach doesn't work that well.

Still confused bywhat your getting at mentioning 2 single player games.

Yeah, agreed. Communication is vital for games like R2 Co-Op, GeoW1&2 (Co-OP or MP), SOCOM, Halo 3, Battlefield, Rainbow Six, COD, etc.

However, Mics aren't so great for Fighting games, I get yelled at constantly and I often mute them.

It is definately genre bases...also, ever since the Party System, there are less chatter, good and bad.

I meet less friends....:(

But you cant deny Gears of War's multiplayer was a complete succes. Imagine an uncharted multiplayer, with a lot of polish (unlike GoW's). If the multi is polished, tested, and specially if it is known it can work (mgs4, precious MGS has multiplayer (although a lot different), Uncharted, too similar to GoW, proven formula.) The more the better, if you dont end up liking it there is no need to play it. If a developer is a good developer, a multiplayer wont affect the quality of the singleplayer.

I won't say no to adding multiplayer content, but if it's a sloppy tacked on pos then I'd rather live without it.

You should change your title if that's what you're trying to get at.

You speak for yourself, but some people may enjoy it, MILLONS may enjoy it. Even if its tacked on (the perfect example being Gears of War's)

Gears allowed for a co-op adventure though. There is a team of 4 guys, but most the time it is only Marcus and Dom. Hence, how they came up with the co-op. As for the Multiplayer aspect, the game consists of one faction vs another faction. They set Gears up o they could always make a multiplayer game out of it if they wanted to.

Uncharted would have been impossible to do. The game consists of Nathan Drake vs treasure theives. You tell me ow to make a vs mode out of a game like that. Then comes the co-op you want so bad. Tell me where in the game they could consistently have a co-op session. They CANT. Most of the game it is Nathan Drake and Nathan Drake only. If they wanted to pull and random character out of there butt they could have, but that would have had a great chance of ruining a great game.

Co-op only fits in some games and isn't meant for every game out there. Some companies still want to make great single player games and im not gonna ruin that by making them add co-op to them.

Bu, bu, bu they should make a co-op Legend of Zelda. NO THEY SHOULDN'T!!!!

Wow relax. First of all, Uncharted's mp could EASILY been done. Make one faction the good guys (drake, girl, and they can pick the rest from the cast). Make the other faction the thieves. NOT HARD AT ALL. Even stranglehold did it. There on, it can basically copy off gears of war. Why does it always have to be about Nathan Drake? Some sequences Drake is not alone. Maybe in uncharted 2 they will add co op and then you will have to swallow your words. NO, co op doesnt have to be in all games. NO i dont want a legend of zelda co op (the last bubu resort you used was lame, btw). NO, every game doesnt need co op, or multiplayer. BUT AS LONG AS GOOD DEV KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A WORKING MULTIPLAYER THAT DOESNT AFFECT THE QUALITY OF THE SINGLEPLAYER, IT IS ALWAYS WELCOME. Maybe you wouldnt like a Co-Op uncharted. Fine, dont play it co-op. Maybe you wouldnt like a MP uncharted. Fine. But many people would. Few extras are always welcome. BUBUBU nothing.

LOL...seriously..what game do people communicate about Team Work...In multiplayer games, everyone is Every-man-for-themselves. eg. COD search and destroy...you tell me if everyone works as a team when needing to defuse or plant the bomb....everyone runs off and does what they have to do..get the most kills so they can get the most xp.

You'll never see team work in online games. When people start using them for team work instead of taunting and fighting then i'll say mics are sweet and needed.

Maybe in uncharted 2 they will add co op and then you will have to swallow your words(swallow my words? I never said Uncharted 2 wouldn't have co-op. i just said Uncharted 1 wouldn't allow co-op). NO, co op doesnt have to be in all games(then why are you complaining about MGS4 and Uncharted?). NO i dont want a legend of zelda co op (the last bubu resort you used was lame, btw)(Good at least we can agree on something. I only used Zelda a an example because it is strictly single player).

Haha seems to me like you are the only person who would like a co-op Uncharted.

Sorry i actually use sense rather than this image you have bestowed on your brain, that any game can have a multiplayer aspect as long as a developer can make it right.

[QUOTE="itzagir"] But you cant deny Gears of War's multiplayer was a complete succes. If a developer is a good developer, a multiplayer wont affect the quality of the singleplayer.itzagir

Gears of war IS the only applicable example. And just because millions of people happen to enjoy it doesn't mean every single player game should have a multiplayer portion added on.

And what does this have anything about PS3 multiplayer?!?!

Make one faction the good guys (drake, girl, and they can pick the rest from the cast)(How Lame). Make the other faction the thieves. NOT HARD AT ALL. Even stranglehold did it (Stranglehold Sucked). There on, it can basically copy off gears of war. Why does it always have to be about Nathan Drake? (Um because the game focused on Nathan Drake, Now if they add a 2nd treasure hunter to the mix, like a partner for Nathan then that should be fine, but Uncharted 1 didn't give us that, so they would be pulling a co-op game out of their butt)Some sequences Drake is not alone(Haha did you even read my post. It may be lame, but you cant deny it may be fun for some people. Even more if they come up with innovative modes. Stranglehold may of sucked for you, but i kind of enjoyed it. Fear 1 Fear 2 Crysis Gears of War The darkness Dark Sector Stranglehold All of these games were 'BUBU SINGLEPLAYER GAEMS ONLY'. Yet they had multiplayer. And guess what? I ENJOYED IT. What is with gamers not enjoying the games? Also, drake is alone, but they could of added an OPTIONAL co-op, somehow. More options = better. Face it, some people actually enjoy more content. Dont speak for everyone, im prettu sure i am not the only one who would of wanted a co op uncharted. And this thread was originally about SPLITSCREEN, dont derail it into multiplayer. ALOT OF PS3 GAMES HAVE MULTIPLAYER. but a lot lack splitscreen and co op. They can make nice additions. You dont like them? well dont play them. Co op is optional in many games you know.

Arguing with you is like arguing with a wall.

Based on the people in this thread you are the only one who wanted a multiplayer Uncharted or MGS4.

I actually edited out the whole "how lame" part. That wasn't necessary.

What does anything you said have to do with adding a co-op feature or split-screen as you call it, to a single player game? Just as i said. Some games allow it while others don't, and the games you mentioned don't allow it.

You keep stating the same thing over and over and its pointless. You are not going to get far by only saying This game should have co-op or that game should have co-op.

There are games that allow for a great co-op experience. Killzone 2 is an example. Story wise and gameplay wise they could have done it, but they didn't. That would have been a much better example for you to use at the begining of your forum. Rather than 2 single player based games.

You are missing my point. They are nice additions. They dont have to be story related. Heck, why dont they let a character just jump in? If people enjoy it, then it is not a bad addition. You seem to be guided by your tastes. MGS has multiplayer. I just want splitscreen for it. I never asked co op for MGS4. A single player game has little replay value (well, most, RE4 for example has tons). Uncharted didnt have ANY. I didnt even bother beating the game again. Why? Because it lacks something to keep me, and others, coming for more. Multiplayer is a nice addition, just because it may not 'fit' in some games doesnt mean it cant be done. Does this mean games like Bioshock should have MP? No. But uncharted could of used it. Even if you think the pirates vs good guys idea is lame, some people may enjoy it. And who knows? Naughty dog may of came up with some innovative modes to make up for it. Uncharted co op could of worked, even if it ewasnt story related. Say, let another person jump in, choose askin and play disregarding the story. OPTIONAL. And you got the whole idea wrong, you derailed us into trhis, i was complaining about the lack of SPLITSCREEN. Jesus. You get the thread wrong and then continue to argue.

What are the 2 types of Splitscreen? Ill let you think about that.

Ok ill give you the answer: co-op and versus mode.

Say a character does just jump into a campaign mode. What will they do. Disregard the story all of sudden?

SO what's the difference between Bioshock and Uncharted? Why should Uncharted need it but Bioshock wouldn't?

It makes the game more arcade-like. It makes the game enjoyable for more people. Make the mode unlockable if you have to. But an addition could of been good. You misunderstood the topic, misread my posts (LOL coop MGS), and continue to argue. My point is that if they have time, if they have money, and if fans want it, there is no excuse for them to let stuff out. Games need more arcade feeling these days. AND PLEASE, IM NOT GOING TO ARGUE OVER THIS ANYMORE, IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN THIS THREAD STAY ON TOPIC. -SPLITSCREEN-.

Im going to sleep in a few mins, if i cant answer you back, please re read the topic. And try to understand that it wasnt about multiplayer but rather splitscreens. And how if a company has the money, the cash and the support of the fans they can and should add little touches, like splitscreen or multiplayer modes, for more people to enjoy, because after all that is what gaming is all about, having a good time, and it gets better with friends.

Yes i beat Bioshock and yes it was a great game. check my gamertag if you dont believe me.

Haha GTA SA. I cant even believe yuo brought that up.

Hmm You original post said "For example Uncharted would have been great with co-op. Same goes for MGS4, split screen would have been awesome."

Still the 2 ways to play split screen is co-op and versus mode. Your topic was about multiplayer and split screen and how single players game should have it. So how am i straying away from the topic?

Same goes for MGS, SPLITSCREEN. I meant MGS4 would be better with splitscreen for say i dunno, MGO? Re-read OP. And my topic wasnt about how singleplayer games should have it, but rather how PS3 games should have it, again, re-read the OP carefully. GTA SA co op gave me a good time, again you are basing your comments on your personal experiences. I believe you beat bioshock, then you would understand how it cant be played on coop. You know what, im done with you. Gaming is not about you. Im out to sleep. No hard feeling tho

I don't like the lack of a "community" feeling on PSN. I have never met more great people or felt like a team than I have with xbox live. Everyone on xbox live has a mic and we chat and it feels like a team. On PSN, not very many people have a mic so it just feels like a bunch of people running around shooting.

T-Aldous
I hate this false-theory on PSN play. You go on XBL and you have noobs and you have vetereans who take it seriously. If you get noobs on the mic, it is NOT something to be happy about. Same goes for PSN. You have veterans that use mics a ton and you have noobs that don't use them. Either way, the noobs blow. Go play a game like Socom, where the majority of the people online are serious, veteran players where 95% of them use mics. Don't generalize your online experience of an entire service by basing it on your short time spent with some noobs in Warhawk or something.

[QUOTE="Tekkenloving"]I get co-op but honestly split-screen is really annoying don't like it for any game.tirralirra
Ahh!!! ITS YOU!!! YOU B4ST4RD!!! It is precisely people like you where MS and Sony do their market research on split screen and people like you come out saying split screen sucks. I'm sorry, but most of us have friends!!! GRRRR Yeah, split screen compatibility for both 360 and ps3 is declining, not to mention online compatibility which Halo owns. I think warhawk can do 4 player online too...

Yeah D: all this 'i dont want it so IT IS BAD' selffish people are killing splitscreen, and therefore, a big part of gaming. I miss the old N64 games, were a developer would add a fun MP regardless if it has to do with the story or anything (Bad Fur Day, Jet force gemini, etc were all awesome in a couch with friends). Now all these people are spoiled with online play and therefore less developers add splitscreen, and due to reviewers TAKING score from adding multiplayer modes many developers don't even try. It is pretty sad, imo.
